Procedure to Update Galaxy S Plus I9001 with Cyanogen Mod 9 based 4.0.4 ICS Firmware:
- Download ICS 4.0.4 Package from here to your computer along with the Google Apps Package. Once downloaded, you now need to connect your phone to the computer with the help of USB cable and place these two zip files in your device’s SD Card.
- Ensure that you are not placing the files deep into the sub folders or else it won’t be detecting the update packages in the recovery mode. After copying the files, disconnect the phone from computer.
- Turn Off the phone so as to enter the device in the recovery mode. The Galaxy S Plus I9001 can be entered into recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to turn ON your device.
- In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the data present in your phone.
- Now, in the recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the “CM9 ICS 4.0.4 Package” which is placed in the phone and then select the “Google Apps”. As soon as the file is selected, it will take around 5 – 7 minutes for applying this update.
- Once it’s updated, the device will either be landed in the recovery screen or it will be rebooted automatically. If the device boots in the recovery screen, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system.
Note: Just in case if the device booted up or gets into the boot loop mode then you need to re follow the above mentioned steps with the help of above mentioned instructions. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
