Procedure to Update Galaxy Nexus S with Android 4.0.3 ICS Firmware:
- Download Nexus S ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware Package in your computer and then you need to connect your phone with the help of original USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.
- Now without renaming / modifying the downloaded Zip file, copy the same to your phone’s sd card. Note that you should not place the file deep into the folder or else it won’t be detected in the phone.
- After this, disconnected the connected USB cable and then rename the placed file to “update.zip” and then turn Off the phone so as to enter into the Boot loader mode.
- To enter the phone in the boot loader mode, you need to Press the Volume Up button and continuing to holding this, press the Power Button to turn ON the device.
- Now in the boot loader / recovery mode, select the option of “apply update from sd card” and select the update.zip file which you have placed and renamed the same in your phone.
- Once you select the file, it will take up to 10 minutes to flash the update. As soon as the update is applied successfully, the device will be rebooted which will mean that the update has been applied successfully.
- To check whether firmware has been successfully updated or not, you will have to go to the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware. If the version is different one then you need to apply the firmware again.
