Procedure to update HD Revolution Custom ROM in HTC Desire HD:
- It’s very important to root your htc desire hd phone and also to turn the S off and install custom recovery image of which you can find the below link. Please note that just in case if you are already on any of the custom ROM firmware then you can skip the rooting, s off and installation of custom recovery image which is mentioned in the below link.
Procedure to Root, S Off and Install Custom Recovery Image in HTC Desire HD
- (Optional) Assuming that you are done with the above process, you now need to install the ROM Manager application from an all new ANDROID MARKET PLACE 3.3.12 or from the Android Apps labs. Once, its installed open the same and choose the option of “Backup Current ROM” which will back up the current firmware which is installed in your phone. So, just in case if you wish to revert back to the original version then you can directly restore this current firmware backup.
- After this download the HTC Desire HD Revolution Custom ROM in your computer so that the same can be moved to your phone.
- Now, after this you need to connect the HTC Desire HD phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase and then you need to copy the downloaded Zip file of the firmware to your phone without modifying or renaming the file .
- Once you copy the file, remove the connected USB cable and then you need to turn Off the phone to enter into the recovery mode.
- So, once you have turned Off the phone, you will have to now press the volume Down Key and simultaneously you need to press the Power button so as to enter in the recovery mode from where we will see the screen as see in the screen capture below.
- Now, you will have to select the option of “Recovery” top enter into the recovery mode. In the recovery mode, you will now need to select the option of “install zip from sd card”. Once you select this option, you will then see that a list of files will be displayed on the screen and then you need to select the file which is named as “Android_Revolution_HD-4G_6.1.5.zip”.
- As soon as you select, the update process will be initiated and then wait for a while around 5 minutes till the updation process gets completed. Once you are done with this, if you land up in the recovery mode screen, you need to select the option of “++++ Go back ++++” to select “reboot system now” for rebooting the phone.
- (Optional) If you are facing issues like force Close errors in your phone. You first need to turn Off the phone and then enter into the recovery mode. After this you need to elect the option “Clear Storage” and then you will have to press and release the Power button. So, as soon as you confirm the same by selecting this option, you will have to again press the “Volume Up” key for YES. This will clear all the cache data which is there in your phone.
