Procedure to update HTC EVO 3D with Cyanogen MOD 7.1 Phone:
Basically, there are two different methods of installing the Clock Work mod recovery which are the ROM Manager method and the Recovery Mode method. But we will see just one method which is the recovery method and is the effective method compared to the former.
Recovery Mode Method:
- So, before you proceed you will have to download the Cyanogen Mod 7.1 for HTC EVO 3D (CDMA) and then also the latest version of the Google Apps. So, once you are done with the download you now need to connect the phone with the computer so that these two downloaded zip files are moved to the phone. Once you move these files in your phone you now need to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery can be entered by pressing the Volume Down and then power ON button in the power Off mode.
- As soon as you enter into the recovery mode, you will now have to select the option of “install zip from SD Card” and select “Choose zip from SD Card” after which there will be a list of files shown which are there in the phone out of which you need to choose the file which is named as “HTC_EVO3D_CDMA_CyanogenMOD_7.1.zip”.
- After this the file will be applied to the phone and the process of the firmware update will be commencing. As soon as the update is finished you will now need to update the “Google Apps” Zip file too like that so that the Google applications too are installed successfully in the phone.
- After this you need to choose the option of “++++Go Back++++” and select “Reboot System Now” option which will restart the phone and there you go the phone will be successfully updated with the latest version of Gingerbread 2.3.7 Cyanogen Mod.
