Procedure to Update HTC Incredible 2 with ICS Android 4.0 based AOKP Firmware update:
- Download HTC Incredible 2 AOKP Firmware package & Google Apps from here to your computer and connect your device to the computer and place the same in your device. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the sub folders.
- Disconnect the device connected from computer. Download “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store and check whether the device is rooted or not. Also, disable / uninstall all the security suites installed in your device as it may interrupt the process of firmware update.
- Now, turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode with the boot loader mode.
- The Boot loader mode in HTC Incredible 2 can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the boot loader mode.
- Select “recovery” so as to enter into the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition. Select the HTC Incredible 2 AOKP Firmware package & Google Apps in the same manner. Once done, you need to select the option of “Go Back” and select “reboot system now”.
Note: Just in case if the device booted up or gets into the boot loop mode then you need to re follow the above mentioned steps with the help of above mentioned instructions. In this case, you need to re insert the battery and then you need to re follow the instructions.
