Procedure to install Cyanogen mod on HTC Incredible S:
Recovery Method:
- Now, first up you will have to download the latest version of Cyanogen mod for HTC Incredible S so you need to download Google Apps for your Incredible S from here to your computer.
- Upon downloading these two files which are mentioned above, you will now have to connect the phone to the computer / laptop with the help of the USB cable and then you will have to move these files which are Cyanogen mod update zip as well as the Google Apps Zip to your phone’s internal memory.
- Now, you will have to first boot the phone in the Clock Work Mod recovery and as soon as it boots, you will now have to make use of the Side buttons to move or need to make use of the trackball or power button to select the same.
Now, please note that you need to choose the backup and restore option for creating the backup of the current installation on the HTC Incredible S device. Just in case if you are unable to install the Cyanogen Mod in your phone by following the above process, you will then have to follow the ROM Manager process which is mentioned below.
ROM Manager Method:
- First up you will need to download the ROM Manager application from the Android Market Place, after this once this is installed in your phone you will need to open the same.
- In the ROM Manager tap on the option of “Download ROM” option from the menu and choose the option of “Cyanogen mod” and then select the Cyanogen Mod option from the Menu along with the Google Apps.
- Now, please note that as soon as the ROM Manage finishes the downloading of the ROM then it will ask you to Backup the existing ROM and wipe the data as well as Cache. Do the same and in the process it may prompt for the super user access, grant the same and check the option of “Remember” and then tap on “Allow”.
- Now, after this the HTC Incredible S device will be booting in the recovery mode automatically and then Wipe data as well as Cache and then choose to install the Cyanogen mod zip file.
So, as soon as the firmware updation is done all you need to do is to just select the option of +++++Go Back++++ and then select “Reboot System Now” to restart the phone and that’s it you have now successfully updated the HTC Incredible S device to the latest version of Gingerbread Cyanogen mod release.
