Guide to Update HTC One X with Latest MIUI Custom ROM Firmware:
- Before proceeding, you need to install the Cyanogen Mod 9 Firmware update so that you won’t face any issues in the process of installing this MIUI Custom ROM Firmware.
- Download the boot.img file from here to your computer along with the MIUI for One X Zip file.
- Now, connect your phone to the computer and then place the downloaded MIUI One X Zip file in your device’s SD Card. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the sub folders or else it won’t be detected in the device.
- Turn off the device so that it can be entered in the boot loader mode. The Boot loader mode in HTC One X can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the boot loader mode.
- In boot loader mode, select “fastboot” with the help of volume buttons and select the Power button to enter the device in the fastboot mode. Once the device is entered in the fastboot mode, connect the device to the computer with the help of USB cable.
- Now, extract the “Flash_Boot_MIUI.Zip” file and double click on the “flash-boot-windows.bat” file in your computer. As soon as the kernel is flashed, the window will be closed automatically.
- Now, once the phone turns ON select HBOOT option with the help of Volume buttons and press the power button to select the same. Up next, select “Recovery” to boot the device in the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the data present in your phone. After this, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then select the “miuiandroid_endeavoru-2.5.18.zip” which is placed in the phone.
- It will take around 4 – 5 minutes to apply the update. Once its updated, you now need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system.
Note: Just in case if the device booted up or gets into the boot loop mode then you need to re follow the above mentioned steps with the help of above mentioned instructions. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
