Procedure to update Galaxy S2 T989 (T Mobile) to Official Stock Firmware:
Special Instruction: Ensure that you have installed the latest version of the Clock Work Mod Recovery which you can achieve by following the instructions to install CWM.
- First up you need to download the Official Stock Firmware Zip Package for your Galaxy S2 T989 from here to your computer.
- Connect the Phone with the computer using the USB Cable which you got at the time of your phone purchase. Now, after connecting you need to copy the downloaded zip file which you downloaded from the above link. Please note that you don’t place this zip file deep into the phone in folders or else it will not recognize the zip files.
- Now, you will have to disconnect the phone which is connected to the computer and then need to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the Clock Work Recovery Mode. To enter into the recovery mode, you need to press the Volume Up / Volume Down button and then press the Power button.
- Now, as soon as you enter into the recovery mode you will then have to select the option of “Wipe Data / factory reset” with the help of the volume keys to navigate the options and after that you need to select the option of “install zip from SD Card”.
- As soon as you select this option you will see the list of all the files which are there in the phone and then you need to select the zip file which is named as “” and select the option of “Yes” with the help of the Volume keys.
- So, once the installation is done you will have to select the option of “++++ Go Back ++++” and choose the option of “Reboot System Now” to reboot the phone.
Note: Please note that after clearing the cache you will have to reconfigure the APN settings after updating the firmware to access the data services and the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider to get more info on the APN Settings. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings.
