Procedure to Update Motorola Defy with ICS 4.0.4 Firmware:
- First up you need to download the latest ICS Android 4.0.4 firmware package & Google Apps from here to your computer. Once it’s downloaded, you now need to now connect your Motorola Defy phone to the computer and place the downloaded zip file in your phone.
- Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into any of the sub folders or else it will be
- Turn Off the device so that the device in the recovery mode. The recovery mode in Motorola Defy can be entered by Pressing and holding the Volume Down button and press the Power button to turn ON the device.
- Up next, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” > ICS 4.0.4 Firmware Package and the Google Apps to press the Power button to confirm the same.
- As soon as the update is applied successfully, the device will either come back to the recovery mode screen or you will have to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the phone.
Note: Just in a rare event just In case if the Motorola Defy gets in the boot loop mode, you need to re insert the battery and then re-apply the whole steps from start so as to apply the firmware again.
