Nexus 5 devices which are having an issue of boot loop can now upgrade their device with the Lollipop 5.0 without any issues. So this guide aims to help all the devices which have the problem or can also alternatively upgrade their devices with the latest version of Lollipop without any issues. All thanks to a tool called as “Flash 5.0 N5 Tool” which helps in updating the device with the latest update.

All thanks to the XDA member Julian_os which comes with the 2 minute procedure. This is one such tool which promises to make sure that you will be able to restore your device. There are similar tools like Wugfresh and others which too promises to offer similar services but it’s a long procedure and is definitely not a 2 minute job.
Note: This is the official firmware update released by Google and not the beta release.

Pre Requisites:
- While if your device is not booting or is getting in the boot loop mode, the least you can do is to just make sure that the device is charged at least for an hour so that to make sure that it has got substantial amount of battery charge. If your device is working fine, then you should have battery more than 50%.
- Your computer should have complete read/ write access.
- All the data in your device will be lost. If your device is normally running, then make sure that you manually backup all your crucial data like SMS, Call Logs, Contacts and other files like images, songs, videos etc. to your computer.

Procedure to Update Nexus 5 with Lollipop 5.0 Android OS in 2 Minutes:
- Download the Flash 5.0 N5 Tool package from here to your computer and once done, install the same by following the on screen instructions. Make sure that you are unzipping the downloaded zip file in your computer.
- Connect your device by following the on screen instructions for updating the device with the latest Android 5.0 OS.
- Once the device is updated successfully, you now need to check the same from “Settings > About Phone” where you can see the version number of the device. The firmware version will be mentioned as 5.0.
- It will take around 4 – 5 minutes for applying the firmware update. Make sure that you don’t disconnect the device in the process of firmware update.
Note: Just in case if your device gets in the boot loop mode or for gets stuck, all you need to do is to just repeat the above process by rebooting the device which can be done by long pressing the power button.
