Procedure to Update Samsung Conquer 4G with FC 17 Update:
- Download the FC 17 Firmware package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you need to extract the same. Match the extracted files with the below mentioned one.
- Open the Odin in your computer and turn off the phone so that it can be entered in the Download mode. To enter into the download mode, you need to press the Volume Up + Volume Down + Menu button and press the power button to enter the device in the download mode.
- Connect your phone to the computer and then you will see that the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed.
Note: If the ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
- Install the USB Drivers in your computer &Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and
- Ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
- Now, in odin you will need to click on the below mentioned options which you can find from the extracted folder.
OPS – SPH-D600_FC17_CWM.ops file,
Tick on “One Package option”
One package – SPH-D600_FC17_CWM.tar.md5 file
- After selecting the files mentioned above, you need to now click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, you will see the home scree. Once the home screen comes up, disconnect the phone from the computer and turn off the same so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
- The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Up button + Menu Key and press the power button to enter the phone in the recovery mode.
- Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the device boots in the normal mode, you need to again retry entering the same.
In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys. Once it’s done, you then will have to select the option of “reboot system now” for restarting the device.
(Optional) Tutorial to Root Conquer 4G Device:
- From the extracted Zip file, copy the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip and su-bin-3.0.3.2-efghi-signed.zip files to the root of your SD Card. Once copied, turn off the phone so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
- In the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip and su-bin-3.0.3.2-efghi-signed.zip file in the same order.
As soon as the zip files are updated, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system. If the phone refuses to show the home screen even after 5 minutes of restart, you need to then reinsert the battery.
To check on the firmware has successfully applied or not, you can check the same from the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as FC 17 Firmware.
Tip: Due to some reasons if the update process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to apply the update again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
