Procedure to update Galaxy Ace with Gingerbread XWKPN 2.3.3:
- So, first of all you will have to download the Gingerbread XWKPN 2.3.3 Release from your computer on to your desktop and then you will have to unzip the same to your desktop itself in a folder. Please note that while unzipping the firmware zip file, you will be prompted to enter in the password. The password which needs to be entered is “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.
- Once the files are extracted successfully, you will now have to ensure that all files are present or not, there will be three files in all which includes the Odin and also the firmware file which we will see in the due course of this article on how we will be using it. Please note that even if single file is missing then it means that the download hasn’t been successful and you will have to download the same again because while uploading from our end it has been made sure that all the mentioned files are there in the download package which is linked here.
- From the list of unzipped files, you will have to now open the Odin Multi downloader v 4.38 file from the extracted files after which you will see that a new window will be popping up as shown below which is nothing but the flashing tool with which the firmware will be updated.
- Now, you will have to ensure that the KIES software is completely closed and also preferably close all other programs in your computer too so as to ensure that the software update process is not hampered or interrupted in any manner.
- After this you will have to make sure that your phone is turned ON in the download mode, the download mode can be turned ON by pressing Middle Key(OK Key) + Power key and Volume Down Key simultaneously before connecting to PC after which the phone will enter in the download mode. Please note that if you proceed before entering the download mode then try again so that you enter into the download mode. Please note that it is not recommended to flash with the firmware or to proceed to the next step if you are unable to enter your phone in the download mode. It’s very important to enter into the download mode as it acts just like the safe mode. You can also refer to the video for entering your phone into the download mode. Also, for your convenience we have made a short video on how you can enter your Samsung Galaxy Ace into the download mode below,
- So, after double checking that the phone has entered in the download mode and the yellow ID : COM block as shown in the above screen shot. Now, next up without changing any other parameters you will have to select the files as they are mentioned below, this is very important step, if any of the file is wrongly entered then you will end up bricking the phone for which we can’t be held responsible in any manner what so ever. After selecting the OPS file, you will have to tick on the “One Package” option in the “Options” field and then you will have to click on the “One Package” and choose the file with the name S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7_HOME.tar.

OPS – Cooper_v1.0.ops

- After checking the entries correctly, you will now have to click on the “Start” tab which is just located above the “Select OPS” option. Please note that as soon as you click on the Start tab it will take 5 – 10 minutes to complete the firmware update process and its highly requested on not to interrupt the process as this may brick your phone permanently.
- After a period of maximum 10-15 minutes, the updation process is completed and you will have to wait till you see home screen in your phone and also you will have to watch out for Odin as you will see that a Blue colored box will be glowing up as shown in the below screen shot,
For geting in to the recovery mode and to clear the cache first up you will have to turn off the phone and then long press the volume up key, press Menu as holding both the buttons press the power button to start.
