Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy ACE with XWKS9 Gingerbread 2.3.5:
- First up you need to Download the Gingerbread 2.3.5 XWKS9 Package to your computer and then need to extract the same. In the process of extraction, you will be prompted to enter in the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.
- As soon as the file is extracted, match the contents with the image which is mentioned below and then if the contents get mismatched, you need to check with the file extraction or download. From the extracted files, you need to open the Odin executable file.
- Now, turn off the phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode in Galaxy ACE S5830 can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
- Once entered into the download mode, connect the phone to the computer using the Original USB cable and then you need to wait for the ID : COM section to turn yellow which signifies that all the required drivers are installed and you are now ready to proceed with the file selection process.
DANGER: Don’t proceed to the next step if the ID : COM Section doesn’t turn Yellow!
- Now, click on the below mentioned options by clicking on the respective tabs in the Odin.

Select “One Package” option in the Odin
One Package – S5830XWKS9_S5830XWKS2_S5830XEOKP2_HOME.tar.md5
- Once the files are selected, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully , the device will be restarting on its own indicating that the firmware is successfully updated.
Note: Just in case if the power goes Off or the process of firmware update is interrupted due to un avoidable reasons, then reinsert the battery, again enter into the download mode to follow the instructions from the start again.
- So, once the firmware is updated successfully you will then have to turn Off the phone to enter into the recovery mode for clearing all the cache files generated in the process of the firmware update.
- The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Center button + Power ON button to start the Galaxy Ace in the recovery mode. In the recovery mode, choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and by selecting reboot system now option.
Advisory: Please note that as soon as the phone is updated, you will now need to re configure the APN Settings as well as the MMS Settings in your phone so as to access the internet and send the MMS Messages. You can configure the APN Settings from the path Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names after which press the “Menu” key to configure the “New APN” and also need to configure the “MMS Settings”.
