So, lets proceed for the update process and see the instructions with which one can update their Samsung Epic 4G D700 device.
Procedure to Update Gingerbread on Samsung Epic 4G:
- First of all you will have to download the Zip file of Gingerbread for Epic 4G in your computer, you will have to unzip the same. Please note that while unzipping the files ensure that you have unzipped on your desktop so that you can easily locate the same on your desktop. While unzipping if it asks for the password then you will have to enter the password as androidadvices.com. As soon as you extract successfully you will get the extracted contents as shown in the below screen shot. Just in case any file is missing then you will have to again download the whole firmware zip file from above link. There will be 3 files in all as you can see in the below screen shot.
- Now, next up you will have to turn your phone off, wait for lights to all go out, then hold 1 on the keyboard while powering up the phone which will start the phone in the download mode. Please note that if you are unable to get into the download mode then you can try removing the battery and powering it up with only USB power (holding 1 while turning it on) as this might work.
Now, when the download mode is started all you need to do is to open the Odin file which is there in the extracted files. As soon as you open the Odin, you will have to connect your phone with the help of USB cable to the computer while keeping the Odin opened on your computer screen. Please note that at this point of time you will have to ensure that other software suites like KIES and all are closed and also the Antivirus as well as the other firewall tools so as to ensure smooth upgradation of the software.
