Steps to update Galaxy I5500 phones to Arabic JPJPA Froyo 2.2 firmware:
- Initially download Galaxy Europa I5500 JPJPA package and save it on your PC (or Laptop) desktop. After downloading the file, extract the zip file on the same location so that you can find the extracted files easily. In the process of extraction you need to enter the password, so enter ‘androidadvices.com’ as a password, and extract the files.
- Check all the extracted files and compare them with the below shown screenshot. If you find any of the file missing then download the package again and extract it.
- Now open the Odin flash tool form the extracted files and make it run on your system. Once the Odin tool is opened turn OFF your phone. The Odin tool is as shown below.
- Next, turn ON your phone again and enter into the downloading mode. In order to enter into the downloading mode, press Volume DOWN key and OK button along with the Power button simultaneously. Just refer the below video to know how to turn ON your Android mobile in the downloading mode.

- After entering into the downloading mode, connect your phone to the PC (or Laptop) using the USB cable. Once the connection is established, the COM Port Mapping block will turn into yellow color and it indicates that all the necessary drivers have been installed successfully.
- Now, in the Odin tool select the options as shown below.

PDA – PDA_I5503JPJPA_CL1013331.tar

- Once all the files are selected as shown above, click on ‘Start’ button to initiate the process of updation. This may take few minutes so don’t interrupt the process in the middle or else you need to start the whole process again from the beginning. After completion of the updating process your phone will restarts automatically and indicates that the updation process had completed successfully. In some cases, the updation process will take a long time and shows no progress, in such situations unplug the device, and start the procedure again from the beginning.
- So once your phone restarts, just turn OFF your mobile and ON it back again to enter into the recovery mode. In order to enter into the recovery mode, press Volume UP key and OK button along with the Power button simultaneously. - Once your phone is in recovery mode you will find various options and so choose the options like Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. The touch interface will not work in the recovery mode so just use Volume UP and DOWN keys in order to scroll UP and DOWN. In the process of firmware update some of the cache files will generates in your phone to damage applications. So, to avoid any such damage you need to clean up all your cache files. Now, reboot your phone using the option ‘reboot system now’ where again you need to enter the language preference\s and Google account preferences so that your phone will be back into the normal mode.
That’s all; all your Samsung Galaxy Europa I5500 phones are successfully updated with the Arabic JPJPA Froyo 2.2 firmware version.
