Procedure to Update Gingerbread 2.3.6 XWJW1 Firmware:
- Download XWJW1 Firmware package from here to your computer. As soon as you download, you need to extract the same in your computer.
- Once you extract the same, you need to match the files from the above mentioned screen capture. Please note that even if single file is missing then you need to again download and extract the files. The total size of the Zip file is +++.++MB.
- Now, open the Odin in your computer and turn Off your phone so as to enter the device in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
- Once the device is entered in the download mode, connect the phone to the computer with the help of USB cable.
- You will now see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow which will mean that all the drivers are successfully installed and you are now ready to proceed to next step.
DANGER: Don’t proceed to the next step if the ID : COM Section doesn’t turn Yellow!
- Now, you will have to click on the below mentioned Option in the Odin and then you need to proceed to the next step.

- Now, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. Please note that you will have to wait for 3 – 4 minutes till the process of firmware update is completed.
- Now you will have to wait till the phone is rebooted, as soon as the phone gets rebooted, you will then see that the phone will prompt you to enter the Language Settings as well as the Google Account Credentials.
- To check on the firmware has successfully applied or not, you can check the same from the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as XWJW1 2.3.6 Gingerbread version.
For users facing FORCE CLOSE ISSUES:
- Just in case if you are facing issues like force close errors in your phone then you need to turn off the phone and then you need to enter into the recovery mode.
- Now, turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
