Procedure to update Galaxy S Plus GT I9001 with Gingerbread XXKG3 2.3.3:
- Firstly download the Complete XXKG3 Gingerbread 2.3.3 Package wherein it contains all the required files for the updation to your computer. As soon as you finish downloading, you will have to unzip the same to your desktop so that the same can be located easily. In the process of the unzipping of the firmware zip file you will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com”.
- Now, upon extraction of the files you will now have to open the Odin from the extracted files and then you will have to turn Off your phone to enter your phone in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the download mode for more convenience.
- At this stage if the phone starts in the normal mode then you will need to again repeat eh procedure till you enter into the download mode as without download mode you will be bricking up the phone.
- Now, as soon as phone gets into the download mode you will have to connect to your computer using the USB cable which you have got at the time of purchase while keeping Odin opened in the computer to the system. As soon as you connect the phone, after sometime you will see that the ID : COM block will turn yellow which will signify that all the drivers are installed successfully and you are now ready to proceed with the next step.
Note: Ensure that the “Re – Partition” option is not checked and is unticked.
- Next up in the Odin click on the “PDA” tab and choose the file named “I9001XXKG3_I9001XXKG3_I9001PRTKH1_HOME”, you will find this file in the extracted contents. Please note that no other file should be selected and also all the settings should be kept as shown in the below screenshot.
Note: Just in case even after long time it refuses to proceed then you will have to remove the battery and then need to put it back to re follow the instructions from the start.
- Now you need to click on the “Start” tab in the Odin to initiate the process of firmware update. As soon as you click on the “Start” the firmware upgrade process will be initiated and then you will see that after sometime the phone will get restarted on its own which will signify that the firmware upgrade has finished successfully.
- Now, upon successful firmware update you will need to now turn Off the phone so that you can now enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. - In recovery mode, you will have to select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you don’t select any other options or else there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone.
So, once you are done with all of the above steps, it’s time to restore all the contents and data which you have taken a backup of which includes the APN as well as the Internet settings with other data. So, in this way you have easily updated the firmware to the latest version of Gingerbread 2.3.3.
