Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy Note with XXKJ4 Gingerbread 2.3.5:
- Before proceeding, you first need to download the Gingerbread 2.3.5 XXKJ4 update package file to your computer and then you need to unzip the same. In the process of unzipping you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as”androidadvices.com”.
- Upon unzipping the files you will have to match the extracted files as shown below. Even if single file is missing, then you need to again download the zip file again.
- Now you need to open the Odin flash tool from the extracted files and then turn off the Galaxy Note so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the device boots in the normal mode then you will have to again try the process of entering into the download mode. Refer the below video to know more on how to enter into the download mode.
- Just in case if the device boots in the normal mode, you need to try again as without entering the download mode it’s very dangerous to proceed.
Note: If you have any issues with the Odin then you need to download the Odin Zip file from here and then extract the same to get the Odin executable application.
- Once download mode is entered, you now need to connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable after which the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers are successfully installed and you can then proceed to select the files.
- Now click on the corresponding tabs in the Odin to select the files as mentioned below from the extracted files.
PIT – Q1_20110914_16GB.pit,
PDA – N7000XXKJ4_N7000XEOKJ1_N7000XXKJ4_HOME.tar.md5
- After selecting the files in the Odin you need to double check the selections which you made and then click on the “Start” tab to proceed with the firmware installation process. As soon as you click on “Start” it will take around 6 – 10 minutes to finish the updating process.
- Once the firmware update is done, the device will be restarting on its own and then you will be prompted to enter the Google account settings as well as the Language settings after which you will see the home screen.
- To check whether the firmware has been successfully updated or not, go to the path of “Applications > Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where you will see the update version of XXKJ4.
- After this turn Off your phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode so that all the cache data can be cleared completely. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
- Once you enter into the recovery mode, select the options like Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
