Procedure to Update Galaxy S with ICS based Custom ROM Firmware:
- First up, you need to download the IMM76I based ICS 4.0.4 custom ROM firmware & Google Apps from here to your computer and then you will have to connect your phone to the computer with the help of USB cable.
- Now, place these two zip files in your device’s SD Card. Ensure that you are not placing the files deep into the phone or else it will not be detected in the device.
- Turn Off the phone so as to enter the device in the recovery mode. The Galaxy S I9000 can be entered into recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to turn ON your device.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the “ICS 4.0.4 Package” which is placed in the phone and then select the “Google Apps”. As soon as the file is selected, it will take around 5 – 7 minutes for applying this update.
