Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with ICS Android 4.0.3 XXLPB Firmware:
- Download XXLPB Android 4.0.3 Firmware Zip from here along with PIT file in your computer. Once you extract the XXLPB Firmware zip file, you will get four files.
- After this, you need to enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” and tick the option of USB Debugging.
- Open Odin in your computer and turn Off your phone so that you can turn ON your phone in the download mode.
- The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will indicate the Download Mode.
Danger: If the phone doesn’t enter into the download mode then you need to try again as without download mode, you cannot proceed without entering the phone in the download mode.
- Once the device is turned ON in the download mode, connect the phone to the computer while keeping the Odin opened. Within a minute after connecting the phone with computer, the ID: COM section in odin will turn yellow which means that all the drivers are updated successfully and you are ready to proceed to next step.
Note: Please note that if the ID : COM doesn’t turn yellow then install Samsung USB Drivers, .net framework and also you need to update the KIES with the latest version so that the missing drivers are installed.
- Now, in Odin you need to click on the below mentioned tabs and choose the corresponding files from the extracted files.

PDA – I9100_CODE_I9100XXLPB_CL99600_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Phone – MODEM_I9100XXLPB_REV_02_CL1101286.tar.md5,

- After this, you need to click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update and once the firmware gets updated successfully the device will be restarted automatically.
- Once the device gets rebooted, then remove the connected USB cable and turn Off the phone to enter the device in the recovery mode.
- The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys.
To check whether the firmware has been successfully updated or not, you can check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where you will find the version of XXLPB Android 4.0.3 firmware. If there is any other version then do let us know in the comments section below.
