Pre Requisites:
- In the process of firmware update, the data present in the phone memory will be lost. So, you need to ensure that the you have backed up all your data so that the same can be restored. Please don’t create a backup using the KIES tool as it may or may not detect after applying this update.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Notes – Manually save the notes in your mail as these will be lost in the process of firmware update
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Charge your phone as it should at least have 50% of battery charge left so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the process of firmware update. Additionally, tools like Security Suites, Firewall tools and also the KIES PC Suite as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.
