Procedure to Update Cyanogen Mod 9 Firmware in your Galaxy S III GT I9300:
- Download the Cyanogen Mod 9 Firmware Package & Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you then will have to connect your Galaxy SIII to your computer.
- Copy both the Zip files in your device. Once copied, you now need to disconnect the device and turn off your Galaxy S3 so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode.
- Galaxy S3 can be entered in the recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the device boots up in the normal mode, then try again the above process to get your Galaxy S III in recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys so that all the cache data will be wiped Off completely.
- Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Cyanogen Mod 9 Nightly Custom ROM firmware package and then select “Yes” with the help of Volume rocker keys and Menu button. After this, similarly you need to select the Google Apps Zip package placed in your Galaxy S3.
- Once the file is selected, it will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the same. Once the device is updated successfully, you will get the notification that the update has been applied successfully.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.
