Procedure to Update Galaxy SL I9003 with Gingerbread JPKPE 2.3.6 Firmware:
- Download Gingerbread JPKPE 2.3.6 Firmware Zip Package which contains all the necessary files in your computer and then extract the same. In the process of extraction, you will be prompted to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas.
- Match all the extracted contents with the above image, just in case if any of the file goes missing then you need to check with extraction or downloading of the file.
- From the extracted files, open the “Odin” executable file in your computer and then turn Off your phone so that you can then enter your phone into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
- After entering the phone into the download mode, connect the phone to the computer with the Original USB cable after which within a minute you should be able to see that the ID : COM section in Odin will turn Yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed and you are ready to proceed with file selections.
DANGER: Don’t proceed to the next step if the ID : COM Section doesn’t turn Yellow!
- Click on “PDA” tab to select “” and then ensure that the Re partition option is NOT TICKED. After checking the file selection, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update.
- Once the firmware is updated successfully, the phone will be rebooted. To check whether firmware has been successfully updated or not, you will have to go to the path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as JPKPE 2.3.6 Gingerbread version. If there is any other version then you need to again apply the update.
Please note that if the process gets stopped in the middle due to any reason, you need to re insert the battery and re apply the update by following the instructions.
For Users Facing Force Close Errors:
Just in case if you are facing the force close errors after you turn ON your device then that means that you need to completely wipe out the cache from your phone, to do this first up turn Off your phone to enter the phone in the recovery mode.
The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the below mentioned video to know more on how to enter into the recovery mode.
In the recovery mode select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option as shown in the above screen capture.
