Pre-requisites before updating your mobile with ZCKPA firmware:
- Initially, you need to backup all the data present in the mobile as after completion of this firmware update you will lose all the data on the phone. So, you have to store all the phone data so that you can restore it after the process of updation.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Generally firmware update process will consume more battery life of your mobile and so ensure that your mobile has a charging more than 70%. In case of low charging, the mobile get turned off in the middle of the process.
- You need to have a PC/Laptop along with all the admin rights on the same. Close all the anti-virus softwares while running this process.
Once you are dome with the above instructions, move further and start the process of updation.
Steps to update your Samsung Galaxy S Wi-fi 5.0 with 2.3.6 G70ZCKPA Firmware:
- Initially, download G70ZCKPA Chinese firmware zip file and place it on the desktop for easy processing. Extract the file and at the same location on the desktop.
- After extracting the files, check them with the below screenshot and if you find any missing file then download the zip file again and extract it.
- Open the Odin flash tool from the extracted files and run it. Now turn OFF your mobile and start it again in the downloading mode. In order to enter into downloading mode, press volume Down key and OK button along with the power button simultaneously. - Once your mobile is in downloading mode, connect it with PC/Laptop using the USB cable. As soon as the connection is established, the ID:COM block will turn into yellow color which indicates that all the necessary drivers have been installed successfully.
- Now, select the PDA option in the Odin tool and choose the file as shown below.
PDA: CODE_G70ZCKPA_CL767152_REV01_user_low_ship_HOME.tar
- After selecting the file as shown above, click on “Start” button to initiate the process of updation. It will take few minutes and so do not interrupt the process in the middles and if process is interrupted in any manner start it again from the beginning. After completion of the process, the phone will restart and it is the indication of successful completion of the updation process. Now, turn off your mobile and start it again to enter into the recover mode. In order to enter into recover mode Press volume UP key and OK button along with the power button simultaneously. - Once your mobile is in recovery mode, you can find various options, among then select the options like wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. This is because, in the process of firmware update some files will generate to cause damage for your mobile. So, by selecting the above options you cam clean all the unsafe files. After clearing all the file, reboot the mobile using the option ‘reboot system now’ and enter the language preferences to get back your mobile into a normal mode.
