Update Lava Xolo X900 with Official Android 4.0 ICS
To update your There are two options by which you can update your phone with the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on your Xolo X900 phone, which follows as –
- Over the Air Update
- Manual update process
Over the Air Update
This is one of the easy and automatic way to update your phone to the latest version always available. Many of the updates are available via the Over the Air update process and this ensure easy and efficient way of updating your smart phone to the latest version whenever released for a smart phone be it Lava Xolo X900 or any other.
While updating via the Over the Air update you should ensure that you are connected with the Wi Fi internet connectivity as this update file size is large. So it’s recommended to get a free Wi Fi signal via the Wi Fi internet. You can update via the 3G as well but it will be much time consuming process.
Once you are ready with pre requisites you can check for the availability by going through the Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Update. Now in the System Update you need to tap on the Check Now to connect to the Lava servers. Once connected you will get status having option Download or Download Later. You should tap on Download and within few minutes your phone will be restarted automatically. You have the latest version on your phone now.
Manual Update Procedure
- Download the Xolo X900 firmware package to your computer.
- Do not unzip the file and note where you have save the file.
- No using the USB cable provided with the phone connect your device with the PC.
- Your PC will give you a beep sound of hardware identification when detected.
- The USB notification appears in the notification tray. Pull down the notification bar and then select USB Connected. If you phone doesn’t recognizes then turn off the phone and then ON it, repeat the procedure again until this step.
- The Green Android icon will be display with message USB Connected.
- Now turn On the USB storage then select OK. The screen will then display text as ‘USB storage in use’.
- Now move the file that you have downloaded in the step 1 to the root of your internal memory of the storage.
- Wait until the copy process is completed.
- From the Phone select Turn Off USB Storage.
- Now unplug USB Cable from your phone and restart your phone.
- Now we head to upgrading the software by following the path Home > Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Update and then select the Update from USB Storage. A dialog box will be displayed then select OK.
- This will restart your phone and you cannot use the device for about 5 minutes. Installation will be in progress as follows. The update will be automatically applied.
Once the update is done, you can go through Menu > Settings > About Phone and check the Android version on your phone will be Android 4.0.3 or not.
