Velocity Micro Cruz T507 and T510 Tablets Announced – Specs & Price

It was expected that Velocity Micro Cruz will launch new variants of their tablets. Also they were to exhibit the Android 4.0 powered tablets as rumoured earlier. Exactly the same way, today at CES 2012, Velocity Micro showcased their latest T507 and T510 Android tablets.

Under the hood, both Cruz T507 and T510 comes up with same specifications of 1.2 Ghz Cortex A8 processor, ARM Mali 400 Mhz 3D graphics acceleration along with 512 MB RAM. Both will have 8 GB of internal storage capacity along with both featuring front and rear facing camera with nominal quality, Mini USB and Mini HDMI port with a micro SD card slot and 3.5 mm headphone hack. So almost in the specifications segment it has everything same and the similarities ends there.

The T510 comes with 9.7 inches touchscreen with 1024 x 768 display with 4 : 3 aspect ratio and this tablet is kept in resemblance keeping iPad in mind. It comes with aluminium back and button placement. This tablet is based on Android 4.0.1 and it’s on the early state of Android adoption in this tablet so there will be some issues with the touch response and lag.

The little brother of T510, T507 features a 7 inches 800 x 480 pixels TFT LED display and it has got metallic back for a white plastic casing. The expected price of this tablet is $ 150 around and for the T510 is around $ 200 below. Both the tablets will come with Android Marketplace and will get pre-installed Google services. Along with that the Amazon AppStore is also official one and there is QuickOffice Full version always available for you along with the Adobe Flash 11 and playback.

Overall both the tablets look nice on the paper and also along with the specifications too. It would be interesting to see how they shape up in the market once they are launched. Many tablets have been announced as the competitor of Kindle Fire but none of them have given tough fight for money to Amazon. You need a bigger brand name and to defeat Kindle Fire Google has to bring out their own tablet which is in pipeline as rumoured.

Check out the earlier released Cruz T408 and Cruz T410 Android tablets which are already in the market. Along with that also check out the Android tablets and smartphones launched during the Consumer Electronics Show 2012.
