The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi has been in the rumors for a while now about the launch of its flagship smartphone called as Mi 5. Today, the company has launched a new impressive mid-range smartphone called as Xiaomi Mi 4S in China ahead of the flagship Mi 5 that is scheduled to launch in next couple of hours. The Mi 4S is the upgraded variant of the Mi 4 that launched last year and is priced at 1699 Yuan (approx $260/Rs. 17,820). The smartphone comes in White, Black, Gold and Pink color options and will be available for purchase in China starting March 1st.
Coming to the specifications part, the Xiaomi Mi 4S flaunts a 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS fully laminated display offering 441ppi as pixel density, and Corning Gorilla Glass laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Adreno 418 GPU for lag-free and smooth performance. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MiUi 7 out of the box.
On the camera front, the device sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF for faster focus and a 5MP front-facing snapper for video chats and stunning selfie images. The smartphone has 3GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage and there is no information about the inclusion of a microSD card slot. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 GPS/A-GPS and USB Type-C port. The device also includes an Infrared sensor that allows you to control remotely the home appliances
The Mi 4S features looks stylish with glossy unibody design and feels premium in hand with the metal frame around its sides. The device also includes a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the unit for enhanced security. The handset powers a 3260mAh battery that the company claims can easily last for an entire day on mixed usage and also supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology. The Mi 4S will also be showcased alongside the flagship Mi 5 at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona. Stay tuned for more updates!
