The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 2 Prime smartphone in China back in August. Now, the company is all set to launch the Redmi Note 2 Prime smartphone in India at an event scheduled for December 15. Xiaomi also posted a teaser image on Amazon India with words ‘#PrimeisComing‘ hinting at the launch of Redmi Note 2 Prime smartphone and also suggesting that the device will be Amazon exclusive.
Talking about its specifications, the Redmi Note 2 Prime features a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD display offering a pixel density of 401ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. Under the hood, is the powerful Helio X10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. It has 32GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for expansion upto 64GB.
On the camera cordon, the device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and a 5MP front-facing camera for video calling and crisp selfie images. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port.
The handset comes backed by a 3060mAh battery that the company claims can last upto 20 hours of talk time and upto 450 hours of standby time. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MiUi 7 out of the box. The dimensions of the device measure 152 x 76 x 8.3 mm and weighs around 160 grams.
