The tradition of XiaoMi selling out the devices in mere seconds doesn’t seem to leave the company as in the latest, XiaoMi sold out 40,000 units of Redmi 1S Android phone in flat 4.2 seconds. XiaoMi has currently tied up with flipkart for selling out the smartphones and might be extremely happy with the kind of response which it’s getting. While it’s a debatable topic on whether XiaoMi is doing right kind of business or not where consumer is being left to luck for getting the smartphone, till now it worked like wonders for the company. Flipkart is the biggest online retailer in India.
Redmi 1S smartphone is one of the best smartphones ever which is priced at around $98 or Rs. 5,999 which comes with the specs which are unmatched by almost all known manufacturers.
While Flipkart was able to register the interest of around 2,50,000 for buying this Redmi 1S Android phone, only 40,000 phones were up for grabs which were sold on the first come first serve basis. The next batch of smartphones will be available for sale on September, 09th, 2014 for which you need to pre-register at the flipkart’s website. Number of devices which will be available for purchase will be around 40,000 more with a limitation being that only one user can purchase one phone.
It clearly seems like XiaoMi has totally underestimated the demand in India and we only hope that going forward, XiaoMi will increase the number of devices which are up for sale. Very soon, XiaoMi will also be coming out with the Mi Band which costs just $13 along with the Mi-PAD and Mi-4, the flagship android smartphone from XiaoMi in India.
