The domestic smartphone manufacturer, Xolo has been concentrating on the entry-level and mid-range segment and has offered few good value for money smartphones in the recent times. Recently, Xolo has launched yet another impressive entry-level smartphone called as Xolo 8X-1000i priced at Rs. 6,999. The Xolo 8X-1000i is the successor of Xolo 8X-1000 that launched earlier this year, which was the first device from Xolo to run on Hive UI.
Coming to its specifications, the Xolo 8X-1000i flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with 294ppi as pixel density and DragonTrail Glass protection to prevent it from scratches and drops. Under the hood, it comes equipped with a MediaTek MT6592M octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz accompanied with Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
On the camera section, the device sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, Exmor R sensor and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfie images. The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card slot upto 32GB.It supports dual sim dual standby and includes standard connectivity options like 2G/3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port.
It is not the specifications, but the design of the Xolo 8X-1000i that makes it different from other devices. The smartphone comes with an amazing glass body design with a metallic frame around the handset and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both front and back of the device for protection. The handset comes backed by a 2000mAh battery that the company claims can deliver upto 11 hours of talk time and upto 321 hours of standby time.
Like its predecessor, this smartphone also runs on older Android 4.4.2 Kitkat based customized Hive UI out of the box. Though the Xolo 8X-1000i comes with an impressive design that is best in its class, it inevitably lacks 4G-LTE connectivity that is offered by most of the smartphone brands in their devices at that price range these days. The smartphone comes in Black color variant and is available for sale exclusively online via Snapdeal.
To recap, Xolo has recently launched a budget-friendly smartphone in its one series called as Xolo One HD priced at Rs. 4,777. The Xolo One HD features 5-inch (720p) display, MediaTek 6580M quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, 8MP primary camera, 5MP front shooter with LED flash and 2300mAh battery. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and will be available for sale exclusively online via Amazon.
