The UMI X2S was recently called the first true Octa-core smartphone, but that doesn’t stop Zopo from giving their new flagship smartphone the same title, as the launch of X2S is still awaited. Zopo is coming up with a new Android phone in just three days from now, as the launch date fixed by the company is 21st November and they are launching the first true octa-core smartphone in the market.
Zopo has chosen to keep all the details a secret because the launch is imminent and the only detail we got to know through the official Facebook page where they are posting the teasers, is that this is going to clock speeds at 1.7 GHz. It is probably a Mediatek chipset that is going to be included in the new Zopo smartphone, and Zopo has probably chosen to use a slower speed one in this.
Although the company hasn’t detailed anything, the rumors are flowing in that this new smartphone is going to have a 5.5-inch 1080p display with the 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. A good thing to know for several customers around, is that the device would be available internationally as soon as it is launched, but there would be a limited number – 5000 devices to be available during the launch. Zopo has hit UMI and Xiaomi, saying:
Unlike other Chinese brands who tease international customers with hardware and don’t deliver, we have put aside 5000 pc of our new flagship 8-core phone specifically for international customers!
Do check back when the official launch of the smartphone happens, and although the company has some high talks and people have high expectations, we would get to know about the performance only after a hands-on is done. The Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 too had the Octa-core processors but these used four cores at a time, unlike these upcoming smartphones in which all the eight cores run at the same time.
