The Chinese manufacturer Zopo had launched the Zopo ZP998 a month back, and it is one of their best with a full HD display and every other specification being high-end. The ZP998 comes with a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, and it’s a Full HD display with the screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. That makes the pixel density to 401 PPI, not the highest when you compare with the other smartphones, and the reason for that is the 5.5-inch size of the screen.
Under the hood, there is an octa-core processor, i.e. the MTK6592 chipset from Mediatek, which clocks at 1.7 GHz and this is supported by the Mali-450MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The dedicated GPU, good for gamers, clocks at 700 MHz. With the internal storage of 32GB and the option to expand that to 64GB with the MicroSD card, giving an option for the gamers to install the high-end games with large size, and thus the Zopo ZP998 is a good gaming smartphone.
The company claims that this is a first of a kind smartphone with the full-HD, HEVC/H 265, and Google VP9 video compression standards for improved media playback. Camera wise, there are two good lenses provided – a 14-megapixel rear camera with the f/2.0 aperture and the LED flash, with the 1080p Full HD video capture capability, and a 5-megapixel front shooter.
The battery provided in the ZP998 has a 2400 mAh capacity, and according to the company, the standby time is 270 hours because of the octa-core chipset which as a battery saving core. Some of the additional good features of the Zopo ZP998 include the BE Voice technology which would adjust the volume levels in the call based on the surrounding conditions, and the quick gesture app launcher which does some functions without having to unlock the device.
The ZP998 is priced at $299 and this is a decent price for what the company is providing, considering that it is a brand which is not globally famous, and has just a fine market share in the Chinese market.
