I believe that Q1 for the final release of efficient ICS is reasonable. The Beta for Galaxy S2 has been tested and still has 70% room for improvement. Many of the functions does not work i.e Camera, Detection of SD ad External SD, Plenty of Force Closes. I say, better be patient and have a full working OS than something that is half cooked and we end up blaming Google or Samsung for our impatience.

Thanks Neal for all your Help.

  69. Reply kochan10 December 9, 2011 at 9:05 pm

Claiming that Galaxy R will get ICS….and the adding unofficially is highly misleading. First of all Samsung Galaxy R is probably one of the least popular phones among developers right now. (Plus it’s not even properly promoted by Samsung e.g. there’s no way to find it on the most of national websites). The only meaningful resource that belongs Samsung Galaxy R is the impressive army of ordinary users that nobody gives a shit about. So to sum up: things are going really wrong with our device. It’s safe to state that there’s no aftermarket development at all in the moment. So it’s really doubtful we’ll get anything sooner unofficially than officially. Officially we’re enjoying 🙁 GB 2.3.4 in Europe, unofficially we’ve got one custom kernel so far. I don’t want to be misunderstood guys. I appreciate the job you do here. But how can anybody say that we’ll get ICS unofficially in such circumstances?

  70. Reply Ganesh December 8, 2011 at 10:11 pm

    what do u mean unofficially?

u mean there will be developed xda roms and such?

if that is what u mean, there’s no reason to inform us about that, and that is understood that they will develop roms. the question here is are they going to make official SAMSUNG updates or not!

    • Reply Yogesh Patel December 9, 2011 at 6:29 pm

Officially is by the phone manufacturer, custom ROM are available for Android 4.0 for most of the phones they are not official ones.

That is what is describe on the table above (Official Launch)

    • Reply NeaL Pradeep December 9, 2011 at 6:34 pm

unofficially means sources other than SAMSUNG! IT CAN BE XDA ETC.!

Samsung has said that Galaxy S variants willn’t get ICS update.

      • Reply herb November 30, 2011 at 10:17 pm

maybe what they meant was that galaxy S variants such as the ones sold in north america rather than the S Plus.

        • herb November 30, 2011 at 10:19 pm

as in Vibrant, Captivate, Epic 4G, fascinate, Mesmerize etc. Perhaps they class the S Plus as another phone all together.
