So, let’s proceed and see on what are the pre requisites which you will have to follow before we proceed for the procedure to update the device along with the things which are now improved in this update with the instructions to update the device.

Pre requisites for Firmware update:

  • Please note that before proceeding to the updation of the Galaxy S 4G, ensure that your phone is having the model number as Samsung Galaxy and not any other similar looking phones as if you install with this firmware then some of the functionalities won’t run and could even lead to serious damage to your phone.
  • Ensure that all data which is present in your phone is backed up in your computer which can be done by using the Astro File Manager application. Also, you can manage all contacts by syncing all of them with the Gmail.
  • Next up ensure that you have removed the SIM card as well as the external SD cards if any in the phone,
  • After this, ensure that you keep some things like USB cable which you have got with your Galaxy S 4G device,
  • Most importantly you need to ensure that your phone has atleast 50-60% of battery power left, this is just an advisory which if followed then you will not experience any difficulties as while updation of the device the battery consumption is at a maximum,
  • Ensure that your computer / laptop which runs on a XP, Vista or Windows 7 OS the firewall and other antivirus programs are disabled and also you should have admin privileges to download and install the software including the drivers and also along with this you will be requiring the USB port on your computer which supports USB 2.0.
  • (Optional) Many of the Galaxy S 4G users have reported the problem that they are unable to get into the download mode which is the top most necessity for updating your device, so for all those we came up with a tutorial here, just follow the given instructions and you can easily fix the download mode and also the recovery mode bug. This procedure is only for those whose devices unable to get into the download mode and the recovery mode.
  • Please note that flashing with the firmwares doesn’t mean that you are ROOTING Galaxy S. If you have flashed with Voodoo Lag fixes then too you can easily flash your device with this firmware.
  • Ensure that you have closed the KIES completely and also disable any firewalls, antivirus if any. Be rest assured as all the files which are mentioned in this article are safe and virus free.

Improvements in Gingerbread 2.3.3 update:

  • his all new update of Gingerbread 2.2.2 ropes in the better overall refinement of battery performance as it’s optimized further to give long battery life. With this update of 2.3.3 VUVKF1, the battery life has been optimized by around 15% overall and also the quadrant ranks have been substantially improved.
  • Apart from the battery life, this new update comes along with an all new faster and more interactive user interface which is the best part of this update.
  • Many of the users faced issues with the GPS as well as frequent disconnection in the Wi Fi after a particular interval of time which is now overcomed in this update of Froyo.
  • Now, the free RAM too is increased and it also releases more RAM to the users directly so that the phone becomes much faster as the RAM availability has been increased to the users so that apps can make use of it and also the start-up time has been marginally reduced by two points. The quadrant speeds have been substantially improved and also the user interface is now much speedier than before. This update is considered as the major update with almost all the fixes.

Procedure:

  • First up you will have to proceed and download a file which is Gingerbread 2.3.3 firmware file for Galaxy S 4G. This version of Gingerbread for Galaxy S 4G is dubbed as the VUVKF1_2.3 and is not an official version. As soon as you download the same, you just need to ensure that you extract the same to your desktop and in the process of extraction, it will prompt you to enter the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com without the inverted comas. Please note that you should not rename the file in any manner or else the files won’t be recognized by the flashing tool which is Odin in this case
  • After extraction of the Zip files, you will see the files in that folder as shown in the below screen shot.

Galaxy S 4G Extracted Files

  • Please note that if you even doesn’t have one file from the above shown screen shot then you will have to again download the zip file and extract the same. Now, once you complete extracting the files, just click on the Odin folder and then the Odin.exe file to open that flashing software client. There are many versions of Odin which are currently available and are provided by other forums but beware of using them as they are not recommended and the one which comes along with the above mentioned zip file is the recommended one. So, just open the same in your computer after which it will look like the below screen shot,

Odin Galaxy 4GS

  • So, once you open the Odin in your computer, you now have to switch Off the Phone and need to enter the phone in the download mode. To enter the phone in the download mode, first of all you will have to turn Off your Galaxy S 4G and then just hold down the Volume down key and then press the Power ON button simultaneously to turn ON the device in the download mode after which you will see the screen as shown below.

download mode

  • Now, after this you will have to connect the phone to the computer where you have downloaded and extracted the zip file from the above link. Please note that while connecting the USB cable you will have to make sure that the Odin software is open as mentioned and shown above, as soon as you connect the phone to the Odin, the ID COM block will turn yellow after which you will have to enter the files by clicking on the corresponding options as shown below,

Odin Galaxy 4GS Connected

PIT- Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit,

PDA – CODE_T959VUVKF1_CL270364_REV00_user_low_noship.tar.md5,

Phone – T959VUVKF1-Phone-CL1020302.tar.md5,

CSC – SGH-T959V-CSC-TMB-VIBRANTP.tar.md5

Note : Ensure that the Re Partition option is not checked and you double check all the files before proceeding.

  • Now after you feed in the files, you will have to double check the same and then you will have to proceed and click on the “Start” option to start the firmware update process. After clicking on the start, you will see that the firmware will be installed in your phone within a time of not more than 5 minutes. After this, you can see that the flashing process is being in process and you will have to make sure that you don’t interrupt the flashing process as this may be fatal for your phone. So, after few minutes of time you will see the Odin screen as shown below,

Galaxy S 4G Odin Files Flashed

  • Now, that’s it as soon as you see that the above screen is shown in the Odin, you will have to wait for the home screen to see in the phone and there you go, you have now successfully installed the latest firmware of 2.3.3 Gingerbread for your Galaxy S 4G Android phone. Now, after this you will have reset the phone just to ensure that all the cache data is erased which can be done by following the below step.

For checking on which firmware you are currently on, you will have to go to the Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find the version of Android OS where it will show Froyo 2.3.3. So, let us know if you face any sorts of issues as we will see to it that all issues are resolved. Alternatively, you can also dial *#1234# to check the version number. Do let us know if you face any issues while updating as we will ensure that all the problems are solved.

  14. I was finally able to make this work. I have a galaxy s4g from t-mobile and was having a heck of a time getting into download mode. the three button thing didn’t work. What you need to do is take out the sd card and the sim chip. With the phone off connect it to your computer via usb. then hold down both the volume up and down. after 15 seconds or so the phone will turn on and go into download mode.

  15. Hey, started the whole program, the message in odin3 (bottom left hand corner) it says setup connection. It doesnt seem to move from there, there is nothing happening in the phone either it is just the download screen mode. You have mentioned it was less 5 minute. the program odin seems to hang. Got idea what is going on? Or what I should do?

  24. “WOW I FIXED MY PHONE ” FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KEEP EXPERIENCING THE BOOT LOOP ON YOUR PHONE WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS THIS…….1) PUT YOUR PHONE IN DOWNLOAD MODE THIS WORKS WITH PHONES THAT ARE NOT HARD BRICKED ONLY THOSE IN BOOT LOOP ……2) ERASE ALL FILES YOU PREVIOUSLY DOWNLOADED FROM ANDROIDADVICES.COM EVEN DELETE THEM FROM YOUR RECYCLE BIN SO THERE ARE NO CONFUSIONS WITH ANY FILES DOWNLOADED FROM YOUR PC……3) DOWNLOAD FROM ANDROIDADVICES.COM THE 2.3.3 FIRMWARE UPGRADE AND ALL OF ITS FILES . SEND FILES TO YOUR DESKTOP THEN ENTER ANDROIDADVICES.COM WHEN YOU OPEN THE FILE SO THAT YOU MAY EXTRACT FILES, THEN UPLOAD ALL FILES AS THEY SHOW YOU ON THE 2.3.3 FIRMWARE INSTRUCTIONS…..4) ( pay close attn to this step)!!!AFTER YOU LOAD THE FIRMWARE ODIN SHOULD FAIL IN RESETTING YOUR PHONE BUT WHAT THIS DOES IS ENTER THE FILE NECESSARY TO REBOOT YOUR PHONE ACCORDINGLY,THIS GETS RID OF YOUR BOOT LOOP !!!…..5) NOW ENTER A DESIRED FIRMWARE FROM ANDROID ADVICES.COM I USED THE STABLE 2.3.4 FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD TO PUT INTO MY PHONE INSTALLED IT AND GOT MY PHONE TO RESET APPROPRIATELY AND NOW I HAVE MY PHONE BACK THIS SHOULD ALSO WORK FOR YOU ALL BOOT LOOP STUCK GALAXY S 4 G PHONES BY T MOBILE .;) I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR ALL OF YOU WITH THE PROBLEM I HAD I WAS SCARED WORRIED AND CONCERNED BUT HEY CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT, AND CAN ALSO PUT A CHESHIRE SMILE ON ITS FACE GOOD LUCK :)

  25. i did this update and everything works good except the battery dies so much quicker and i am also experiencing the whole call out log problem. i dont want to go back to 2.2 cause i can use skype now, the other update problems like the wifi thing doesnt bug me as much but just the battery issue and call out. is there a way to fix that without going back to 2.2? will the 2.3.4 work on a T-Mobile SGS4G?

  26. Can i update my SGS i9000 to Gingerbread 2.3.3 in Namibia?

  27. follow my instructions its tricky hold pwr button and down volume at the same time to get in download mode. you failed to follow instructions

  28. Try this take battery out then plug phone in computer then put battery in next hold power button and the down volume key, this will bring you in download mode. its tricky you might have to try a few times.

    • still wont i can get my phone in download mode but and i can start odin enter the factory update and go through with the download process but when odin is completely finished my phone will stay in recovery boot loop odin says everything passes and everything loads but i cant get the phone to reboot how it supposed to im just stuck in recovery mode all i can do is clear cache and but it continues to tell me invalid argument damn it!!!

  29. From Portugal…

    THANK YOU!! :D

  30. IVE TRIED EVERYTHING BATTERY REMOVAL, ODIN AT LEAST 20 TIMES AND STRIED DIFFERNT FIRMWARES 2.3.4 AND THE KB5 I REALLY NEED MY PHONE =( PLZ HELP

  31. Click on this link and download, all the files are here that you need.

  32. HI MARK HOW CAN I PUT THE FILE IN ODIN? I TRIED THE KB5 CUSTOM TAR AND IT WONT LOAD INTO THE PDA FOR SOME REASON. AND WHICH ODIN DOWNLOAD SHOULD I GET I HAVE 1.85 AND IT DOESNT RECOGNIZE THE KB5 FILE? AND DO YOU KNOW BY CHANCE IF THE WIFI ISSUE IS FIXED GOING BACK TO FROYO BECAUSE THE WIFI SUCKS BIG TIME ON THE GINGERBREAD FIRMWARE!?

    • Hello Pantera56, When you go to the link and download the files I put it in a .rar file don’t extract the KB5 just move it to a location where you can find it like your desktop then load it from Odin just click on the PDA then click on the unzipped KB5.rar file it should load fine.
If you have any questions and want a quicker response

Unzip odin with win.rar google it and download it

DON”T UNZIP Kb5 File leave intact.

“For checking on which firmware you are currently on, you will have to go to the Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find the version of Android OS where it will show Froyo 2.3.3.”

Shouldn’t this say gingerbread 2.3.3 rather than Froyo 2.3.3 ???

I have followed your well-written instruction and now I indeed have Gingerbread on my SGS 4G. One thing I have noticed though, the call quality degrades tremendously when connected to Wifi. I am fairly well versed with technology, but do not seem to know where to look for this one. Once again, thank you.

  53. If I update my Galaxy S 4G to this firmware, will I be able to run Skype with the front facing camera? I have read their notes in the Market and it seems that it will work due to 2.3 allowing apps finally to use the front facing camera. Ok first of all most i updated mine from ur 2.3.4. post and the firmware is still 2.3.3 so u better erase that post. second. the ram story is bs because the firmware do not have more ram and actially since i updated it my phone is using more ram than when i had froyo. when i used to clear the memory it used to go down to 150 to 170 now with this update it wont go lower than 200. But besides that the phone runs smoother and thats a plus

  59. I was able to update successfully. So far the only issue i am having is the iMap email setup. Before updating to 2.3.3 I had two Imap accounts setup through the K9 mail app. After update I can’t get the same accounts working with the same configuration.
Anybody else having the same problems. Looks like it is a bug in VUVKF1.

  60. i can i downgrade to stock os please respond asap

  61. how can i go back to my stock os firmware which is froyo

  62. @neal
you are the worst moderator in history in fact you should take down this site, you respond the same thing over and over ref lash again ref lash again we all know that doesn’t do anything and you have not once addressed the issue that EVERYONE has asked about the call logs, stay in India you retarded monkey and stop telling people to put a crappy software on the phone which you have no idea how to fix

    • May i know what issue you are facing exactly on Android as you are really not allowed to speak eveil about anyone atleast on this platform. I hope you are a literate human and not an illiterate! Kindly behave and use tidy words!

  63. Okay so I followed all step by step instructions, phone is now stuck on screen that shows phone to computer (assuming to connect it to the computer). It will not load, tried removing battery, nothing, tried all the steps over again, nothing.. What do i do now? The phone asbolutely will not turn on or come out of that screen.. Help ASAP.

  64. neal bro its like a dead phone there is nomsg just a blank screen ?

i need your help.i was updating my phone which is galaxy s 4 g and while updating i took off the cable and battery as well.now my phone is not turning on after that.can you help me how to turn on the phone.

  67. OK I did the flash to 2.3.3 and it worked perfectly. Absolutely no issues uodating etc.

But like everyone else, having issues with the call log. Cant see dialed calls.

  68. guys DO NOT UPGRADE the software does let you use the bluetooth notification bar and does not show any outgoing call logs and messes up your call logs completely I have tried reaching out to this guy neal a few times already and he completely ignores me because he knows the software is bad!!

  69. OK cool. Can someone please explain how to re-flash the phone with the old firmware? Just in case this doesnt work out….I’d like to be able to revert to OE settings

  70. Ok here is my thing, aren’t you guys a little concerned about putting an OS from a untrusted source on your phone? No disrespect to the guy who made this page, I’m just saying, isn’t this opening you up for hacks…..am I wrong?

    • no, as this firmware is just a beta one and its totally your call to update or not to as after all you have full authority on your device! :) Are you having any issues on your phone?

  71. @Neal

neal why are you ignoring me? I see you responded after I posted and chose not to answer. There is a serious call log issue and bluetooth issue which everyone is reporting and complaining about and you keep saying reflash it which I have done over and over with no luck. Please address this issue your supposed to be the moderator.

  72. can anyone post image link to what your phone looks like i want to upgrade my phone but i have doubts is there any way i can go back to manufacture default reset type thing? thanks please let me know

  74. I want to try this, but I already rooted my phone a few weeks ago. Will this work OK if my phone is already rooted? Will it “de-root” the phone?

  75. Do i have to decable lookout mobile to download gingerbread

  76. Jonathan Rodgers

I had no problem getting 2.3.3 installed, and have been pretty happy. However, today I tried to mount the SD card on my computer(s) and failed. I tried Win 7 64-bit, Win 7 32-bit, Mac OS X 10.6, and my Archos 101. With a ll I get the Samsung Kies/Media Player/Mass Storage prompt, but selecting Mass Storage does nothing on the host device. Media Player gives me r/w access to the whole card. Is this to be expected?

    • the r/w access can be obtained by default, is it asking any sorts of password?

      • Jonathan Rodgers

No authentication request, Media Player mode seems to provide exactly what I’d expect from Mass Storage, plus the ability to see it as a camera, so it’s not really a complaint – just weird that Mass Storage fails.

      • Jonathan Rodgers

No request for authentication. I just expected Mass Storage to work like this, and Media Server to be limited to – well – serving media.

  77. when i connect my mobile after upgrading to samsung kies it give me massege “unregistered divise” how to solve

  78. I’ve noticed that after the update 1) I too have the common issue with the call log and more importantly 2) I’ve noticed that while on a call, even when using wifi calling, sound quality is choppy and distorted. Is there a fix for this?

    • this is a network issue and not a firmware issue, kindly check with your operator for the same!

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing problems with the call logs. Luckily I have not experienced any problems with call quality. It’s the same before and after my upgrade.

I did also notice that my speakerphone works BETTER than before the upgrade. The audio is less distorted with all sounds.

      • you can re apply the update!

        • So you’re saying that if I just do it again, that it will fix the problem? Did I do something wrong the first time to cause this issue?

Have you had success fixing this issue by re-applying the update?

I will attempt it in the next day or so and post my results. Thanks!

          • sometimes its not updated internally, its not just you have done anything wrong but since its a software, it sometimes behaves in a wrong manner!

  79. by doing this will it get rid of all the standard apps like tmobile TV and such

  80. wanted to know if dis update would work for the samsung vibrant?…

  82. Hey guys has anyone else experienced a problem of weak Wi-Fi signal after this update? I used to get full bars of signal on froyo but now only have 1 bar. This happens when i try to log onto othe wifi networks too.

    • Although I have noticed that the signal strength indicator shows less “bars”, I have not noticed any degradation in performance.

    • i am having the same problem,my wifi is weak with gb. flashed back to kd1 odin and signal got strong again, flashed gingerbread root again and got weak signal wifi calling drops and breaks up.my netflix only works with gb,so i can have shitty wifi calling or no netflix.help please! new and dumb!

    • just re follow the instructions to again update your device!

    • I resolve the problem by myself. I just plug the USBCable on my computer and Odin recognized my phone. My device has been add. then I use only PDA – CODE_T959VUVKF1_CL270364_REV00_user_low_noship.tar.md5 and Phone – T959VUVKF1-Phone-CL1020302.tar.md5 and I leave others empty. • Hi Neal, I need your help please, help me, please help… I breaked my phone Samsung Galaxy S 4G while i updated it to GB 2.3.3. I forgot to uncheck the Re-partition and then I click to Start in Odin. I unplug the USBcable. 92. I had to have the RE Partition Checked on mine and had to use ADB to enter download mode

  93. After the update I can’t get into recovery mode. Is it just me or is there not a way I can get into it ?

  94. I applied the update and was also able to root my device. Then I noticed that I had no network. I called T-Mobile and they were unable to help. I of course could tell them that I had upgraded my firmware to Gingerbread. They said that I should try to update my firmware via Samsung Keis and if that doesn’t work that I should request for them to send me a new phone. Problem is that I can’t flash it back to Froyo based on an earlier post that I read. Is there a fix for this problem?

  95. I have not been able to make or receive calls since i posted my last comment guys. Any word on a resolution?? I installed everything to the letter and it worked fine for a few days and all of a sudden i got the “process com.wssyncmldm” message and my IMEI is unknown. I need help bad. Thanks

  96. Man I think I messed up my samsung galaxy s phone i was updating to gingerbread and put in all the codes in Odin but then instead of it coming up blue and saying pass after clicking start it says fail and now my cell phone just shows a picture of a phone trying to connect to a computer and an error sign please help guys!

    • levi, did you manage to resolve this? i am exactly the same. i tried to upgrade, the odin process failed, now all i get is a message saying “firmware upgrade fail” “try using recovery mode” but have tried all the suggestions to get the phone into recovery mode which dont work, all i can get is the firmware upgrade screen? help please.

    • Levi, what you have to do, just open odin, reconnect your phone with usb cable because the phone is still in recovery mode, if it doesn’t work, pull batterie out, connect cable, put batterie in phone, press and hold volume down button and the power, verify if odin recognize your phone, when add, use only pda and phone, click start. that’s all. good luck

      • Ok, so i did the same thing. and Now im tryning it again. i still have an error symbol… abt how long does this process take ?

      • hey jim,
i did what you told levi, i checked everything was ok before i started, and it says try recovery mode, but i cant get it to go into recovery mode, and i have tried everything? any ideas?

        • since all the versions of fw are the wipe version, its not a compulsion to clear the cache as its automatically done

        • It’s still in recovery mode, just plug with the USB cable again, hold the POWER buton and the volume down button, notice that your device is added in ODIN, when you see add… just use the PDA and the PHONE only.

  97. how do i root after gingerbread? i am a noob , is there a step by step guide somewhere?

  98. The process stoped at PARMA.lfs without any error or warning.
The phone is still on download mode and the oldin is still working.

  99. Was working great, now all of a sudden i am getting “process com.wssyncmldm” message and my phone wont make or receive calls :((((. I have since reflashed and couple of times and wiped cache to no avail.PLEASE HELP!!

  100. if i use method 1 to start in download mode it works, but the id com block will not turn yellow.i tried using another pc to start download mode, then plugged into mine got a serial gadget driver error message.no yellow block.

    • Make sure you have the USB device drivers installed on the PC. I believe you can install them using Kies mini but I also found them on the xda site.

  101. after i upgraded my galaxy s 4g tmobile to gingerbread 2.3.3 there is a issue with call log. i can see my dialed calls. missed call and received calls are o.k. but dialed number not showing up. what can i do. how to solve it. someone please help

  102. Remove battery, put it back. Then push VOLUME minus and POWER button down and hold it untill recovery screen appears.

  103. Here are few mthods you can use (from XDA website by Golmar88)

    FIRST METHOD (easiest/most common)

    1) Power phone off
    2) Plug USB into computer
    3) Hold vol up + vol down
    4) Plug USB into phone while still holding the vol up and vol down
    5) Yellow /_\ (triangle, Downloading, Andy shoveling, Do not turn off Target!!! symbol)
    Your now in Download mode

    SECOND METHOD

    1) Power phone off
    2) Plug USB into Computer
    3) Plug microUSB into phone
    4) Hold pwr + vol up + vol down
    5) When Batt icon goes away, release pwr, still holding vol up + vol down
    6) Yellow /_\ (triangle, Downloading, Andy shoveling, Do not turn off Target!!! symbol)
You should now be in Download mode.

    THIRD METHOD

    1) Power phone off
    2) Pull battery out
    3) Hold vol up + vol down
    4) While holding vol up + vol down, plug in USB cable into the phone
    5) While still holding vol up + vol down, put battery back in
    6) Yellow /_\ (triangle, Downloading, Andy shoveling, Do not turn off Target!!! symbol)
You should now be in Download mode.

    FOURTH METHOD (adb)

    1) Enable debugging on your phone (Menu>Settings>Applications>Development>)
    2) With phone on, plug USB into computer and phone
    3) Open cmd
    4) Type in “adb devices” (not totally necessary, but I always do it just to make sure everything is good), making sure it recognizes your device
    5) Type in “adb reboot download”
    6) Yellow /_\ (triangle, Downloading, Andy shoveling, Do not turn off Target!!! symbol)
You should now be in Download mode.

  104. Tmobile Galaxy S 4G will not go into Download mode. Any solutions for that? Goes to recovery mode.

  105. After installing this 2.3.3 GB and playing around I found out that I won’t be able to flash back to original Froyo. Why I would try to do that? Because this GB is not rooted and it can not be at this moment. I need root it because I want to install CWM, Google Video Calls and few other things (unlock) None of these can be done with this Gingerbread flash. There is another GB 2.3.3 version on XDA website and that one is rooted. To late for me. After trying to flash Froyo back I almost bricked my phone. I was able to flash to this 3.2.2 GB. Now I have to live with it. Its good ROM but NOT ROOTED. Any sugestions?

    • I am having the same issue. I dont know how to restore back to stock froyo from gingerbread.

    • Today, after hours of searching I finally found the article with solution how to root this 2.3.3 GB. It’s here:
I went through all steps and now I have my Galaxy SG Gingerbread rooted!

      • Is this already rooted or how would I root 2.3.3? Thanks

      • This Gingerbread is not rooted. You have to check XDA site to find their procedure how to root. I have done all the steps and now I have this 2.3.3 rooted. Checked with terminal. Confirmed.I have access to root. Thanks to this I was also able to modify Google Talk so now it has Video Chat enabled. Then I was able to Install newest Netlix. Runs like charm. I have included link to XDA in my previous post but this site didn’t let it go through.

      • WHERE IS THE LINK??

    • Paste on Google this XDA article title: [mod]whos ready for gb rom root???6/17/11 I used odin for this root process. Works great.

  106. tony in san diego

  107. Done, works good so far.

      • Did not see this post before posting mine, this seams to be an issue again.

      • I need help!!
I downloaded 2.3.3 for my T-Mobile sgs 4g and now I cant get my phone into download mode or recovery mode. I have tried all the button combos. Please note, download mode worked for me when i downloaded 2.3.3 from Froyo and now it doesnt. When I try to root it with Oden I turn the phone off like instructed then I press the vol up and vol down at the same time. then when I connect the usb to the phone to get it into download mode I get an error which says your usb device has malfunction and nothing happenes. I checked all the drivers and they are all sucessfuly downloaded why would this be happening? PLEASE HELP I NEED ROOT!!!

        • Listen,
1- just following the rule, open ODIN, shut down your device, plug with USB Cable to your PC, use two buttons: POWER and VOLUME DOWN button, wait about 5s two times, release the PWER Button and still keep the VOLUME DOWN Button, when you see the yellow triangle, wait for ADD to ODIN,
2- for the root, download the link : ZImage.root and follow the instruction…

  113. I updated my phone today and I agree that my phone runs a lot more smoothly. I have since been looking for a way to root it. I guess I will just have to wait for you to come up with a way to root this now firmware version. I tried using a program called “Gingerbreak” that claim to be able to root any phone running Gingerbread. It failed to root my phone. Further google searches lead me to your page. Please let me know as soon as you have figured out how to root this new firmware build.
    Thank you.
