LG Spectrum launching Nitro HD with 4.5″ Display on Verizon LTE

The LG Spectrum is rumoured to be the successor of LG Revolution handset. After a long rumours it’s now officially called as Spectrum and it will head to Verizon Wireless in United States. Verizon Wireless didn’t comment on the price of this smartphone but its sure that it will be available from January 19. Pricing of this smartphone is imagined to be ranging from $ 249 to $ 299 for regular two years contract with a Verizon monthly plan and for GSM unlocked version it maybe priced at $ 569 to $ 649.

The LG Spectrum is powered with 1.5 Ghz dual core Snapdragon S3 processor with 1 GB RAM and offering 4G LTE connectivity with ever demanding large size screen standing at 4.5 inches along with HD IPS display screen protected by Gorilla Glass display. The True HD IPS display is 1.4 times sharper than Pen Tile subpixel arrangement when compared with Super AMOLED display and consumes less power. At 329 ppi pixel density the screen quality is very much crisp and clear. It will include the currently trending 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash and auto focus on the rear side capable of 1080p HD video recording and the front facing 1.3 mega pixel camera can be used for video chat and video calls. Memory options include 4 GB on board storage along with 16 GB of micro SD card pre installed. The smarter connectivity options includes the Wi Fi Direct for faster transfer of music files between two Wi Fi enabled devices, DLNA share and HDMI interface provides viewing of HD content on your high end devices. Also Bluetooth 3.0 provides wireless file transfer and includes 1830 mAh battery provides 480 minutes of usage time and 350 hours of standby time. Its also said that optional 3000 mAh battery extender will be available at launch.

Sad to that this will be yet another Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered mobile phone as one would have expected to be out with Ice Cream Sandwich. With Android as the open source platform you get access to Android Market to install various games, applications, widgets and you receive timely updates. This phone will have exclusive HD access to ESPN ScoreCenter App scoreboard and it will be preloaded with various HD apps like Netflix and Smart Movie HD editing tools. It will have the dimensions of 5.33″ x 2.71″ x .41″ and weights 4.99 oz.

As we already said that LG will be coming head to head with Samsung in 2012, looks like they are on roller coaster with many device launches. LG Spectrum is pretty interesting device from LG and Verizon.
