> The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is official. The banner images at the Fira Palate Hotel first floor speak all about it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

> Samsung’s gone wild. 10.1-inch is an obsession for them! The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is unveiled. 1GHz dual-core, 1GB RAM, 16/32GB and two cameras in the pack.

> Huawei has done one of the best releases, before the actual start of the MWC. The Huawei Ascend D Quad series phones, with 1.5GHz processor, the 4.5-inch screens, the 8MP rear camera with 1080p recording, and a 1800 mAh battery giving more than a day of usage. Now that is what we call a superphone. And the company claims that to be the fastest smartphone.

Huawei Ascend D Hands-on

> What we have been seeing in the Samsung Galaxy devices, slowly gets into the list of Sony, as they unveil “Sony” as a brand, and come out with a Sony Xperia U with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera, and boy, we love the Sony cameras especially for the Macro clarity they provide. No wonder why the Cybershot name is so wild in the market. The screen is small though, iPhone-like 3.5-inch.

> The Sony name gets another device in the list with the announcement of the Sony Xperia P smartphone, with a neat 4 inch and aluminum body case, Gingerbread OS running on the 1GHz dual-core processor and the best part being the 8MP camera with the extra embedded technology to enhance the camera features, and record HD videos.

> HTC Sense 4.0 device users, smile wide with the data protection becoming far better with the 25GB storage provided by Dropbox for those devices of HTC which have the HTC Sense 4.0. This is for 2 years, but that’s a lot though. was giving away 50GB storage for all the Android users but the 25GB from Dropbox is what we would trust more, at least the HTC users should take the advantage of.

That’s it from the pre-MWC day! We are all set to start for the MWC 2012, that starts today.

27th February 2012

Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 10.1 inch version. It comes with a whooping 10.1-inch screen having a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, and 2 cameras. The screen does give a full HD video output. There is a big S-Pen given along, we aren’t sure if it fits into a slot in the Note or else would be coming as a separate tag which we have to carry along. Nevertheless, the original Galaxy Note was awesome, and we expect none less with the 10.1-inch version.

Samsung Galaxy S WiFi Player comes with a 4.2-inch version, running on the Gingerbread OS. It would have two cameras, the 2MP rear one and VGA in the front, and there are 8GB, 16GB variants with an expandable memory of 32GB extra. No update on pricing, but we will keep you updated on that as and when we get the news.

Here are a few exclusive pictures of the Sony Xperia series of phones. We could get some time to explore those devices, and the strip in the bottom that changes colors based on the ones shown on the screen, is called innovation and excellence.

The Sony Xperia Phones

The ZTE Era quad-core phone was launched, and it comes with the Tegra 3 processor from NVIDIA and a 4.3-inch screen. Based on the ICS, the phone has an 8MP camera and is pretty thin at just 7.8mm.

The 1.6 GHz Medfield processor from Intel comes into the phone launched by Lava, the Lava Xolo X900 and that would be some speed and awesome performance. The same processor is coming even with Orange, who are launching a similar phone in the western market. The phone is based on Android Gingerbread OS, and would have either 3.5 or 3.7-inch screen.

The Lumigon T2, Android smartphone based on 1.4GHz snapdragon processor is launched. It has some exceptional features like the gorilla glass display, the speed processor, the 8MP camera etc.

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G with the T-mobile networks is launched, with the Qualcomm processor at 1.5GHz speed and the Super AMOLED display. It would be having the 4G LTE connectivity.

The Android ICS based Acer Liquid Glow smartphone is launched, with the specifications being not so high. 1GHz single core processor, 3.7-inch display, 5MP camera and the 800 x 480 pixel screen resolution.

The 5-inch waterproof Panasonic Eluga Power, we had a hands-on of the same and it was perfect. The 5-inch beast was thin enough and sleek. The 720p HD display, 1.5 GHz snapdragon processor, Android ICS were good enough to beat many other at the launch parties.

Here are a few photos from the event place, Fira de Barcelona.
