Announcing the launch of the device, Mr. Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India, said, “Digital India is about all about bridging the digital divide through technology and connecting people to the digital world in their language. The growing numbers of mobile internet users in India are proof of the digital aspirations of Indians today. By deploying a multi-language portfolio in our latest device, Panasonic seeks to connect Indians through smartphone technology to the world of opportunities in mobile banking, online shopping, social networking and virtual entertainment.”

Regarding specifications, the Panasonic P66 Mega flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display with 294ppi as pixel density and comes equipped with 64-bit MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The dual sim dual standby supported smartphone includes basic connectivity options like 2G/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. It comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB.

On the photographic section, the smartphone sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter for video chats and crazy selfie lovers.
