How to Root HTC Sensation on Latest Official ICS Firmware

HTC SENSATION LogoHTC Sensation users who have updated their device with the latest 1.27.00 firmware version can now easily root their devices easily without turning S Off. Over a period of this article, we will be checking out on what are the list of pre requisites need to be followed along with the detailed guide on how to root HTC Sensation. Rooting Information: In the process of this article, the device will be rooted and once the device is rooted the warranty will get void. The only way with which you can restore the warranty is by re applying the official firmware update in your phone.

Essential Pre Requisites:

  • In the process of rooting the device, there is a possibility that the data may get lost or corrupted. So, we recommend you to back up all the data with the help of below mentioned steps so that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored.

Notes – Backup in the mail so that you can then restore manually
SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Videos, Images, Videos & Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
  • Enable the USB Debugging in your HTC Sensation from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked as shown in the below screen capture.
  • Disable all the antivirus suites in your computer and uninstall the same in your device as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

    I did unlock the bootlaoder from the HTC dev website and instead of flashing the CWM recovery i flashed the kernel ,now my phone doesn’t power on at all. Please help. 🙁

    It’s good, worked fine thanks for your assistance. I can now install ‘AdFree’ from the market and get rid of pesky advertisements in applications. Amongst other cool stuff as well. I remember having a Xperia X8 and that was the worst phone I’d ever used, but I rooted that. Now I own a decent phone I can do more stuff. Android is better than iOS and always will be. Apple fan boys go and **** in your hand and eat it. 🙂

    I flashed the kernel than it reboot with only white HTC screen nothing go on any more, what can i do?

    i cant install file which said to install from SDK manager :S it says nothing was installed
