Procedure to Root the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 phone on Gingerbread 2.3.5:
- So, assuming that you have followed all the instructions mentioned in the first page, you now have to download the Gingerbread XXKI3 Rooting Package to your computer. Once you finish downloading, you need to extract the same, please note that in the process of extraction, you will be prompted to enter the password. The password is “androidadvices.com” without the inverted comas.
- Once the files are extracted, you will have to open the “Odin” executable file in your computer and then you need to then turn Off the phone so that you can now enter into the download mode.
- The download mode can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the download mode for more convenience. If the phone encounters with the normal booting then you need to try multiple times to get into download mode.
- As soon as you enter the download mode, you will now have to connect the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchasing the phone while the Odin opened in the computer so that the phone can be connected.
- As soon as you connect the phone to the computer, you will see that the ID : COM block will turn yellow which means that all the drivers which were required to install were successfully installed in the computer and you are now ready to proceed with the selection of files as shown below.
- After this you will now have to click on the PDA tab in the Odin and then you need to select the file which is named as “CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KI3-v4.1-CWM4” after which double checking the same that you have enter the file as mentioned below, you need to now proceed to the next step.

- Please note that rest all options you need to keep them as it is as shown in the below screenshot. Now, after checking all the options, proceed by clicking on the “Start”. As soon as you click on the Start tab, the rooting process will be initiated and the phone will be rooted within less than a minute or two.
- Please note that if in a very rare case if the process gets hanged after minutes then you need to repeat the whole procedure by restarting the PC and phone.
- If the phone gets successfully rooted, the device will be restarted and as soon as its restarted, in the “Applications” you will find an app called “Super User”. If you are unable to find this skull shaped icon then that means that the phone is not rooted and you will have to root the same again by following the above procedure from the start.
- So, now if once the rooting is done then you will now have to turn Off the phone so that you can enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. For more you can even refer to the below video.
- In recovery mode, you will have to select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you are not deleting or modifying any other settings apart from the above two or else it will clear the data even which is there in your internal sd card. So, once you are done, that’s it you have now successfully rooted the Galaxy S2 on Gingerbread 2.3.5 firmware.
