Pre Rooting Instructions:
- In the process of rooting the Galaxy S2 GT I9100, there is a probability that you may end up losing all the data which is stored in the phone, so it’s necessary to backup all of them so that just in case even if you lose the data, you can restore the same at any point of time after the rooting process. You can create a backup of all the components by following the tips which are mentioned below.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Now, the second most important thing is that you will have to install the latest version of KIES in your computer so that all the required drivers are successfully installed in your computer which are required for the rooting process.
- Also, ensure that you are having a minimum battery life of 60% so that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the process of rooting.
- Since we will be making use of the Odin software tool, you will have to ensure that you close all the tools which are related to the Antivirus / Firewalls and also the KIES software tool too so that the rooting process is not interrupted. Most importantly, the laptop / desktop which you will be using should be having a minimum running Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7 along with the open USB 2.0 ports with the Admin privileges so the USB read / write access is enabled.
