I’m interested in rooting the phone, but i’m worried that i may need the warranty. Has there been a tested unrooting of the phone? If so where could a how to?
TO UNROOT YOU CAN EASILY APPLY WITH THE FIRMWARE!
You mention that the phone can be unrooted using “the Firmware”, but you do not say where to get this firmware ……
Where do we find THE FIRMWARE?
Knowing the version does not help me without the file(s) …
pradeep,I just got a skyrocket phone. i wanted to unlock it, can i root it and it will get unlocked?
Any help will be appreciated.
Sandy
How do you do that? i’m also worried of voiding my warranty… im a n00b, please be thorough.. THANK YOU!
yes, the warranty will get void!
Does it work with i727R from rogers in canada?
no, it may or may not work as we haven’t tested!
Hi, I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 Sky Rocket from USA, and it is not working with the carrier in my country. I think it is locked phone with US carrier. Will this unrooting solve the problem? Will it make it run with any carrier worldwide?
Please help me here what should I do?
Thank you.
yes samy, unlocking will solve the issue
I’ve already rooted my phone using a different tool. Can I still unroot my phone using this tool? And if so, how do I unroot it?
yes you can un root he device by applying the default firmware, which one was your default firmware?
Can’t get the usb to connect but was able to copy file to device using Kies Air. Pretty cool program Do I need the USB installed?
yes, its recommended!
I’m assuming this root doesn’t work on android update 2.3.6?
no, not as of now!
I’m assuming this root doesn’t work on android update 2.3.6?
no, not as of now!
Will you post a root for android 2.3.6?
Thanks
yes it doesnt work!
sorry, i am new to the whole rooting thing, i successfully rooted my phone, if i want to unroot, how can i do that? how do i find the firmware?
to un root you need to again apply the update!
The update locked my Skyrocket into a continual 30 second reboot loop of death. Safe mode didn’t work, nor did pulling the battery and SIM card. I went to the AT&T store, mostly to complain, because I knew they would just say, “Do a factory reset.” There was another guy right in front of me with same problem.
So is your phone working fine now?
I am also looking for a root for 2.3.6
yes, we will come with rooting article as in when its available! it will take time as its a n/w locked device!
will you link to it here or should i be checking the site for new articles daily?
you need to subscribe to our newsletter so that you will be informed about the same!
I wanted to say THANK YOU!!!!! This has been the easiest root for me. I was a duck in water for a minute, as this is my husbands phone I was rooting for wifi access. AWESOME job on this! Only a buffoon can mess this root up.
thanks buddy for your trust in us!
How do we subscribe to your newsletter?
as soon as you open androidadvices.com, in the pop up you need to enter your email details!
rooted this method in just under 10 mins… really easy !
thanks for all the development into this ! amazing
Glad it helped you, hope you share the article with your friends and also suggest them this method.
“TO UNROOT YOU CAN EASILY APPLY WITH THE FIRMWARE!”
Can you elaborate on this procedure more closely? For a 54 year old noob.
on which firmware you are on currently?
2.3.5
anyone
“to un root you need to again apply the update!”
Can you elaborate on this procedure more closely?
to unroot, you need to again apply the firmware!
Hmm… Using the basic root checker app from the market – it says im NOT rooted, after using this method… Is there another way to verify that it did indeed take the root?
Thanks
there is no other way around as of now!
Does rooting delete contacts, or will they remain intact?
yes it deletes contacts
All I get is “the system cannot find the specified path”
download and place the file in desktop itself!
thanks I figured it out.
Hi,
I have unlocked my skyrocket. Can I still use the same rooting method?
Thanks in advance !!!

Has anyone with AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII SGH Skyrocket LTE i727 tries this with complete success?
I followed a tutorial on xda-developers forum and think I soft-bricked my (now retired) US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize 2.3.5 stock. I only had it for one week.
After I finished with Odin and all steps I rebooted and phone is stuck on Samsung logo with vibrate mode=once, 3x, once, 3x etc.
I can hold the buttons down and get into red mode but nothing works, no files found.
I would love to try to root again with my new Skyrocket but can’t afford another new phone if it doesn’t work.
I’m going to post all my info for the new Skyrocket and if anyone out there has SAME phone with proper root using this method please let me knowif it does or doesn’t work. I will donate after successfully rooting.
Model number:
SAMSUNG-SGH-I727
Android version:
2.3.5
Baseband version:

Kernel version:
2.6.35.11
Build number:

When I first got the phone under Location and security I’ve checked Use secure credentials and I set a password for credential storage.
Willl this affect the rooting process?
I also put a password on the Factory data reset, will that affect the rooting process.
Thanks to anyone and everyone that takes an interest and is willing to help. I obviously don’t understand the entire process but am reading, researching and learning.
I have a Skyrocket from AT&T and got the super user with this method. I believe that my phone is similar to yours. I’ve just finished the process and already installed an app that needs super user access. I’ll try to advise you if I get any problems, ok?
ok i got it but my typing is really slow. how can i make it back to normal
i have used this way to root my phone, but when i used a rom the phone got stuck at the boot screen, that wasnt the problem, since i unrooted my phone using odin3, it is unrooted now, the problem is , when i tried to root my phone, again , it wont root, n i couldnt get superuser, skyrocket-easy-root wont work with me any more, is there a way i can make it work again to root my phone, i need root for language support rom, please help me man
have you unlocked the device first?
I have ATT Sky rocket got it unlocked , can i root the phone. Will it affect network lock or radio lock.

Its not locked, its unlocked phone.
try updating again, it should work!

I have the Disable USB debugging CHECKED. I have read that Macs don’t require the usb drivers to be installed and I have yet to find any evidence of there being USB drivers exclusively for Macs. Could 2.3.6 be the issue? Is there a fix out there anyone is aware of? Thanks!
try manual installation of super user and busybox with the help of apks!
I already root my Galaxy SR very easy with this method. Now I ask you if can I update my android version without lossing the root or do I have to stay with 2.3.5 version?? (Sorry, my english is not so well)

Use a App like root checker to confirm the same.
This did not work for me either. Running GingerBreak 2.3.6. I had the same results as KK.
