You can also check out our comparison of Amazon Kindle Fire Vs Galaxy Note

You not only get a large screen phone but also the option to enjoy tablet features with the main advantage of using this device for taking Notes on the go. It certainly would give you better browsing experience but using it as a phone can sometimes make it look awkward because of the large size which is lot more bigger than your palm.

Also since the Ice Cream Sandwich is already launched, we really hope that this device comes pre-installed with the same but seems like Samsung is again going to fail by providing gingerbread firmware on this device. Probably once the device gets ICS then it would get hardware accelerated and that is when we can actually experience Touch Wiz.

The device is going to be officially launched in India on November 2nd, off-course you can watch it live on AndroidAdvices, you just have to make a note of the time which is 12:30 Pm Indian Time on November 2nd 2011 along with this you can also win a device for yourself. Just visit this link and answer the question which is asked there about the smart pen whose answer we have already answered above following which your entry to Win this device is confirmed.

Update: Samsung Galaxy Note is priced at Rs 34,990 in India and for the first 1 lakh customers who buy this device will get free leather case which I think is worthily freebie.

Question to Readers : Will you buy the Galaxy Note or wait for the Galaxy S3 with 16MP Camera & S5K2P1 CMOS Sensor?

  1. Reply Alok November 2, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Is there any hope that price will be less in coming months ? It’s looking quite alluring and attractive, but price is a bit high. I’ll wait for a few months.

    • Reply Yogesh Patel November 2, 2011 at 4:37 pm

I don’t think so, because you the trends, Galaxy S priced was lowered because S2 arrived and S2 is priced now at 27,000 as Galaxy Note has arrived. Don’t think of price with Note as comparatively this device is priced at Rs 41,000 when compared with UK & HK price.

    • Reply Yogesh Patel November 2, 2011 at 4:41 pm

Infact in India we have 3G, where does the question of 4G comes from? It does have NFC but do you think you will use NFC feature?

Can we atleast upgrade to ICS after we buy? WIll this support ?

    • Reply Yogesh Patel November 1, 2011 at 6:48 pm

Absolutely! If the official firmware update of Galaxy Note doesn’t arrive, developers will come with custom firmware update and Galaxy Note along with Galaxy S II are the prime contenders from Samsung Brand for ICS Update, they would be the first to receive ICS. Keep checking, we will post the same.

Someone high up in Samsung seem to have changed Samsung into the fastest chicken farm is mobile comm history. Where is the R&D when you attempt to create a niche product?? Why do they have such difficulty changing from the current Galaxy form factor while developing a new device, still blindly copying iPhone & glaringly without packing the Oomph to go with such a large screen device. The very fact that it has pretty much the same specs as S II makes those who own the S II content with their devices. It is going to be priced too high (42K range) in India & loose out in the market.

    • Reply Amit Bhawani November 1, 2011 at 9:27 pm

You are quite right in this case because they are not coming out with any serious features when we talk about the recent Galaxy series of Android Mobiles. Also if thats the price then Samsung would find it had to get success for this device when compared to the Galaxy S2 Mobile Phone. Apart from the large screen and stylus there is no reason why someone would upgrade from their current Galaxy Phone unless and until someone is just in a need for a large phone.

Wow. I am gonna bought this.

  7. Reply Androidage October 31, 2011 at 7:54 pm

This is the complete powerful device which has many goodies in it, think it rock and beat the sales of SGSII.

    • Reply Amit Bhawani October 31, 2011 at 9:36 pm

We cannot say that it can beat the S2 sales because S2 already has been a hit and many users have bought it and they wont think about upgrading within a few months , but still this can set a benchmark in the industry for its features.

Thankls for the advice, but I have tried Croma, Reliance digital, Ezone all of them, including local samsung dealer ( whos info I got from Samsung India directly) has no idea and they dont have anything other that 10.1

    • Reply Amit Bhawani October 31, 2011 at 9:47 pm

They have had launched the 7″ model earlier in India which is now totally discontinued and Samsung’s focus now is on the 10.1″ Model. You can better wait and check out the Note if it suits your requirement.

samsung sayes -” you can enjoy it (note) as a smart phone and also a tab”- so, OS should be ICE CREME SANDWITCH, and memory must be 64GB.

  14. Reply aabeer alvi October 30, 2011 at 3:29 am

samsung says “you will enjoy it (note) as a smart phone and as a Tablet.
so, it should be first ICE CREME SANDWICH and external memory must be 64GB

You are right atleast in terms of the ICS point but it seems that it will be available by the first quarter of 2012 which is not really far. They would probably want to first launch the device and then move ahead with the upgrade of the OS. Though the 64GB memory can be increased by adding memory cards.

  16. Reply Amit Kumar October 29, 2011 at 7:46 pm

The hardware and design is pretty good but i think the 5.3 inches screen is too big for mobile. It will end up like Dell Streak.

  17. Reply Matt October 29, 2011 at 3:10 pm

What is the difference between Galaxy s3 and this note? should we wait for s3?

    • Reply Yogesh Patel October 29, 2011 at 5:42 pm

Well its your personal opinion which counts. If you feel 5.3 inches is the one you can go with as of now as there are no official dates of Galaxy S3 launch.

  18. Reply chandan kazi October 28, 2011 at 9:37 pm

Samsung dont make fullish us because its a tablet-phone please make sure preloded ICE CREAM AND SANDWICH on this device. ………….otherwise not,

    • Reply Yogesh Patel November 2, 2011 at 10:31 am

Nothing to blame them, ICS is launched very recently. If Google have made the announcement of ICS launch earlier, they would have shipped the Galaxy Note with ICS only. Anyways not to worry as ICS is on the way for many of the top end Samsung smartphones.

  19. Reply Ashish Mundhra October 28, 2011 at 7:11 pm

The only thing that’s bothering me is battery. With such a powerful device come great fear of battery performance. Whats the use of carrying it around if their is not enough juice in it to drive it.

    • Reply Yogesh Patel October 28, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Well Galaxy Note would come with 2500 mAh Lithium ion based battery for extra backup.

  20. Reply raj October 28, 2011 at 5:41 pm

    • Reply Amit Bhawani October 28, 2011 at 6:48 pm

Lets try to make samsung replace our current phones with the Note. If that happens it would be just awesome!

  21. Reply Sandra October 27, 2011 at 5:39 pm

I can’t wait to try the new Note. Winning it would be just wonderful.

By the way, I would like to see more info on the Samsung Droid Charge on Android Advices.

    • Reply Amit Bhawani October 27, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Sure we will make a note of the same and try to cover Droid Charge as much possible too. And yes it would be great to win the large screen smart phone

    • Reply Amit Bhawani October 28, 2011 at 6:47 pm

This should be Rs 5000 higher than the Galaxy S2 hence its worth waiting and the news would be out by next weekend. You should wait for the same.
