Procedure to Update Galaxy SL I9003 with Official Value Pack Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware:
- Download Value Pack DDLF2 Firmware Package from here to your computer along with Odin. Extract the firmware package and Odin. Open odin in your computer and turn Off the computer so that it can be entered in the download mode.
- Turn Off your phone so that it can be then entered in the download mode. Download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again for entering the device in the download mode.
- Up next connect your phone to the computer with the help of Original USB cable while keeping Odin opened in your computer. As soon as you connect, the ID: COM section in the Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully applied.
- Now, click on “PDA” to select “I9003DDLF2_I9003ODDLF2_I9003DDLE1_HOME.tar.md5” file which you can find from the extracted files. Once it’s done, you now need to click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update.
- It will take around 4 – 5 minutes for the device to get it updated. As soon as the device is updated successfully, the device will be rebooting. Once you see the language preferences, you can disconnect the device from computer.
For Users Facing Force Close Errors:
- If you are facing any force close errors, then you need to turn Off the device and enter the device in the recovery mode. Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again for entering the device in the recovery mode.
- In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Additionally, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
- So there you go, you can now use your phone on the latest firmware. To check whether it has been successfully updated or not, visit the path “Settings > About Phone” where the current version will be shown as DDLF2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware. If there is any other version then you will have to again re apply the update.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.
