LG Optimus 3D P920 – Guide to Update with Stable ICS 4.0.4 Firmware

LG Optimus 3D LogoFor all those who are eagerly waiting for the fully working ICS Android 4.0 firmware update on their LG Optimus 3D P920 smartphone can now easily apply the same as unfortunately there will be no more updates released by LG of Jellybean or ICS. All thanks to the custom ROM firmware developers who are working hard to come out with the stable custom ROM firmware. So, on the similar lines we will be checking out on how you can apply with the latest ICS based custom ROM. Please note that you will have to make sure that you have rooted the device. To check on whether the device is rooted or not you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. Just in case if the device is not rooted you will have to root the same as this is the custom ROM firmware.

Before you proceed make sure that all the data present in your device is backed up manually with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t backup the data with the help of LG PC Tool as it won’t be detecting the device in the custom rom firmware.

Text messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Phone Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Pictures, Music, Videos, Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

The USB Debugging can be enabled from the path USB Debugging can be enabled from the path of Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Just in case if the device is not rooted, you will have to root the same with the help of below mentioned step.

    Hi, I upgraded my lg 920 to jelly bam 4.2 and my phone has has been misbehaving like going off, lost of network signal,no more of the previous apps that I love so much and alots more.now, I want to revert to the status cuo so I can get back all lost apps, how do I go about it.

    These files in the rar package are for flashing via the lg flash tool I think

    This Procedure does’t worked for me. My phone has fallen into boot loop and and is booting upto LG Logo and stops there. This post is rubbish. Dont breakup your Phone by following this stupid ROM.

      yes it will be as it is, there are no additional features in this update for the same

    the update file is not detected in recovery mode as its a rar file n not a zip file…

      rar or zip, both can be attached in the recovery mode

        Hello, I try to flash the RAR with Rom Manager but I have the same problem… the RAR file isn’t visible… I try to unzip it and rezip with .zip extension but if I flash this does’nt work… the message is: “Installation Aborted…”
