- Once the files are downloaded, you will now first have to turn off the phone so that you can enter your phone in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device. If you have successfully entered into the download mode then you will see a green screen which is shown below. Also, additionally note that if the device boots in the normal mode with the home screen then you will have to again switch off the device and retry the process and if despite retrying you are unable to get into download mode then you will have to fix the download mode error for your phone.
- Once the download mode is entered, you will now have to open the Odin file from the extracted files. As soon as the Odin is opened, you will have to connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable. Once the cable is connected to the computer and phone, you will see that the ID : COM block will turn yellow as shown in the below screen shot.
- Now, once you add the files AS PER THE MENTIONED STRUCTURE BELOW, you will now have to double check the same on whether the files are the same which are mentioned above or not. Just in case if you have selected the wrong file then you will have to re select the files correctly as mentioned and click on the “Start” option to start the firmware updation process. After clicking on the start, you will see that the firmware will be installed in your phone within a time of not more than 5 minutes. Please note that you will have to tick on the One Package option in the “Options” field as shown below.
- The firmware installation process will be initiated once you click on the “Start” tab and then within a maximum time of 5 minutes the updation process will be finished. Just in a very rare case if it hangs up at one particular place for more than 10 minutes, then just pull off the battery and re follow the instructions from the start after restarting the computer.
So, now as soon as the firmware updation process is done, you will see that language selection option followed by the Gmail account details will be asked which you need to enter accordingly. Please note that you will have to also clear the cache from your phone. The cache can be cleared by first turning off the device so that you can switch the device in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Home and the Power button at the same time.
As soon as you get into the recovery mode, you will have to clear the cache files and also you will have to wipe the partition so that all the cache files are flushed out of your phone ensuring the proper functioning of the phone.
