Steps to update Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to ZSKH5 Honeycomb 3.1 firmware:
- Initially download Samsung Galaxy Tab ZSKH5 package and save it to your PC (or Laptop) desktop. Once the file had downloaded then extract the files at the same location. Now, it will prompt you to enter the password. So, enter ‘androidadvices.com’ as a password and extract the files safely on to your desktop.
- Check all the files with the below shown screenshot and if you found any of the file missing then just download the file again and extract the same.
- In the extracted files you will find the Odin flash tool, open it, and run it on your computer. Now, turn OFF your Tab and make sure that Odin is in activation stage.
- Turn ON your Tab again and enter into the downloading mode. Just press volume Down key and OK button along with the power button simultaneously to enter into the downloading mode. Please refer to the below video to find out how to turn ON your Tab in the downloading mode.

- Once your Tab is in downloading mode, connect PC (or Laptop) to your Tab using the USB Cable. As soon as the connection established, the ID:COM block will turn into yellow color indicating that all the drivers have been installed successfully.
- In the Odin tool click the options as given below.

- Now click on the ‘Start’ option and it will initiate the process of updation. This updation process takes few minutes so don’t disturb the process in the middle or else you need to start the process all over again from the beginning. After finishing the updation process, your Galaxy Tab will restarts automatically and that is the indication of completion of updation process. So, now turn OFF your Tab and ON it back again to enter into the recovery mode. Press volume UP key and OK button along with the power button simultaneously to enter into the recovery mode. - In the recovery mode various options will be available, so choose the options like wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. In the process of updating the firmware, cache files generates to damage some of the applications on the Tab so to avoid such damage we need to clean up all the cache files. Once all the cache files deleted from the Tab then reboot it using the option ‘reboot system now’ and here you should enter the language preference as well as Google account preference so that your phone will be back into the normal mode.
