Xiaomi’s Alleged Redmi 2S Spotted in AnTuTu benchmark – Details

Xiaomi’s Redmi successor Redmi 2s showed in a new benchmark clarifying some of the hardware in the device. Xiaomi’s Redmi successor had showed up in a TENAA certification not too long ago, but there still hasn’t been any official announcement or release for the device.

The device just appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks as Xiaomi HM2014811.The specs for the Redmi 2S aren’t significantly improved from the original Redmi 1s, but considering it’s a budget phone that’s trying to stick a fairly low price point, which makes sense.

The processor has seen an upgrade to a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 instead of the Snapdragon 400, and a front-facing camera has been bumped to a full 2 megapixels. Other specs include 1 GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch 720p screen. The rear camera looks like an 8 megapixel, and Xiaomi’s MIUI software will likely be on the device. A 2-megapixel shooter will be available on the front. Android 4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed on this device with Xiaomi’s MIUI on top of it.

Last month ,there were reports that the Xiaomi is working on a $65 (399 Yuan) smartphone powered by Leadcore processor. Xiaomi will use LC1860 chip of the Leadcore for this low-cost smartphone. LC1860 SoC has support for 2K LCD displays and is built around 28nm Cortex-A7 architecture while it runs at 2.0GHz. This chip comes with a Mali T628 GPU for graphics processing and offers 1080p video capture at 60 FPS. This chip also brings 4G LTE support. The upcoming Xiaomi phone will allegedly cost only 399 Yuan ($65) and will include this LC1860 SoC on the inside. The device will reportedly sport a 72op display and 1GB of RAM along with 4G LTE support.

Last week, the Delhi High Court in an interim order has restrained Xiaomi as well as online e-commerce site Flipkart from selling in India handsets of the Chinese mobile maker that run on a technology patented by Ericsson.

The court has also restrained Xiaomi or its agents from making, assembling, importing or offering for sale its devices that are infringing the mobile phone technology patented by Ericsson.

But now, the Court has permitted Xiaomi to sell and import Qualcomm chipset based handsets till January 08. The court is scheduled to hear the case on February 5, so it is likely that Xiaomi phones will again be banned in the country from January 9 unless the court passes another similar order.
