The Acer Liquid Z5, when announced few days back, was seen as a very good budget Android phone in different markets, but the launch in China won’t be received that well, especially for the pricing set for it, and when you see several competitors to the Liquid Z5 with somewhat comparative and even better pricing, having no compromise with the specifications.
The Liquid Z5 comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display, and under the hood, there is a 1.3 GHz Mediatek dual core processor, i.e. MT6572 chipset, which is supported by the Mali 400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. It was already put on display at the CES 2014 event in Las Vegas, and the phone did look decent for what is being sold for, but as said above, the Chinese market is a bit different from the other markets because of the number of brands which sell many devices exclusively in China and making the competition fierce.
The smartphone with the Acer RAPID design for the one-handed control for the unlocking and waking up of the screen, launching of the camera, taking a picture, launching apps from the home screen, and picking up calls is priced at 1400 Yuan in the Chinese market, and that is the reason why one would look for alternatives. Let’s which which others could be a good choice against this one.
- Huawei Honor 3C – comes for the price of 998 Yuan, and is powered with 2GB of RAM and there is a better rear camera and a 720p HD resolution. Moreover, there is a 1.3 GHz octa-core processor packed into the device.
- ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini – this has a Snapdragon 600 processor along with a camera having the OIS feature, and is priced at 1499 Yuan.
So there you go, there are alternatives which you could look out for, before deciding to purchase the Acer Liquid Z5, and although the other specs are basic, the battery with 2000 mAh shouldn’t be that bad. Prior to the launch in China, the Acer Liquid Z5 was launched in France, Benelux, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Ukraine and UK market for the price of 169 Euors. Worth it?
