Along with the introduction of the One Touch Idol S, the company Alcatel has announced even the Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini, the smaller version of the Alcatel One Touch Idol device, having a 4.3-inch touchcsreen, and quite a few features that are a bit less than that of the other announced smartphone, but still having a variant the Dual-SIM feature which could come handy.
The One Touch Idol Mini is a little thicker than the Idol S, with the 7.9 mm thickness, and given the current stream of smartphones in the market, the 4.3 inch screen looks decent and quite comfortable for a smartphone. The screen has got a FWVGA screen, with the resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Internally, the Idol Mini is powered by the 1.3 GHz Dual core processor, but the RAM is quite low with the 512 MB RAM included in it.
The screen of the Idol Mini has got a Black Crystal touch panel, an oleophobic coating and a full lamination. Running on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, the device has got some good connectivity options which include the HSPA+ (HSDPA/HSUPA), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP, GPS, MicroUSB 2.0.
The storage options provided in the Idol Mini depend on whether its the Single SIM or the Dual SIM version of the device. If it’s a Single SIM version, the internal storage provided is 4 GB, and there’s a MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion to 32 GB, but if it’s a Dual SIM version, there’s 8GB internal storage but one cannot expand the storage with a MicroSD card.
On the rear side, the Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini has got a 5-megapixel camera with the HDR, Face Detection, Panorama mode and the camera is assisted with the LED flash, and it is capable of recording videos at 720p HD quality. The front camera is a VGA one with the primary purpose of making video calls.
The One Touch Idol mini from Alcatel is available in three colors – Cranberry Pink, Silver and Slate. There’s no actual information about the availability of this device.
