Amazon has launched its new 9th generation Fire 7 tablet which is claimed to have a faster processor from its predecessor. This new Fire tablet will be coming in Sage, Plum, and Twilight Blue color options and is priced at $49.99 for 16GB storage variant while the bigger 32GB storage option can be bought for $69.99. Furthermore, Amazon also introduced a new Fire 7 Kids Edition with Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, a kid-proof case along with 2-year worry-free guarantee at $99.99.
Back in 2017 the Fire 7 tablet was introduced with 8GB of storage and now the device will be coming with a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixels IPS display giving 171 PPI. Under the hood, there is a 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device will be coming out of the box with an old Android 7.1 Nougat based FireOS 6.3 and there is no information on further updates for this device.
It will be coming with a 2MP main camera on the rear with a 2MP camera on the front as well for video calling. Previously there was an 8GB storage option but now the tablet is offered in 16GB as and 32GB storage option out of which 9.1 GB and 23.6GB are user available and the rest is occupied with system software. The storage can be extended further up to a maximum of 512GB via microSD card slot. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth with support for A2DP, USB 2.0 and few more.
There is also a 3.5 mm stereo jack, Built-in microphone and integrated stereo speakers along with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor. The battery will be giving 7 hours of life with mixed usage.
